Just got back. Wow... what a game!!!! Chilli crowd was LOUD and into the game.
Way to go Humpty.... Don't mess with Humpty's dad. Humpty got a rockin and a rollin when the refs thought it inappropriate for a father to complain about someone throwing an arm across Humpty's face.
The boys overcame a big challenge tonight. Enough of the the "We can't hear you chant..."
Go cavs...

If you build it, they will come
so let me get this straight. the game is being shown on ONN tomorrow at 11 a.m.?
bit-that really lit a fire under Humpty didnt it? MISTAKE!!
Chillicothe never ceases to amaze me. Humpty Hitchens continues to step up on the big stages, 30 pts tonight, 26 of those in the second half. Seth Dawes was great again tonight in his new banger role, Ray Chambers kept us in the game in the first quarter while Humpty sat with foul trouble and really through the whole first half. the rest of the kids defended well and i think did a great job of taking Andre Harris, Prati, and Ced Harris out of the game.
This rivalry just got a whole lot more heated....but Chilli is 3-0
Aronhalt was a stud all night tonight for zville. his shots were almost all contested and he kept draining them. feel for him for missing that free throw to seal the chilli win.
thank you zanesville for the "warm" reception we really felt welcome!

^^^^ Ditto that baller3...
Cavs showed their true grit and metal tonight. In a hostile enviroment, in a gym they had not played in before, and with their star pg sitting with 2 fouls early in the game, the Cavs did not fold.
More then that after a tough 3rd quarter and eventually a 12 pt decifit, the Cavs dig deep into their "REFUSE TO LOSE" pockets and go on a 11-0 run and finally close out a hard fought victory.
Z-Ville is a very good team and I take nothing away from them. They have to be disappointed after blowing the 12 pt lead and then Aronhalt missing the free throw to tie the game.
What can I say about Ray Chambers and Seth Dawes in side. They combined for 23 pts and 20 rebounds. Ray took over the first half offensively with 13 pts to keep the Cavs going.
Also, our defense showed up in the 4th qtr and that "lockdown" mental approach came out. We forced turnovers and got a few easy buckets. I thought all of our starters defended very well in the 2nd half and forced Z-Ville to knock down some big shots (Aronhalt was huge). In the first half we gave up to many dribble and drives to Harris (#24). We shut him down in the 2nd half. Also Pratti did very little damage to us. I thought Coach K. continued defensive rotations helped keep Z-Ville off balance. At times Aronhalt was defended by Knights, Chambers, Dawes and Smith.
In the end, the best player in the SEOAL (no offense to Aronhalt or Chambers) took over. Mr. Hitchens, went from a foul plagued first halt to a monster 4th qtr. He repeated his Dunbar performance and went on a roll (inside and out). Not sure if Hump Sr. ejection got him fired up, but I told him "Dad is all right, it is time to take over", and he did. The kids followed right with him and overcame a huge deficit in this defensive slugfest.
I am sure more will be posted tomorrow on both sites and it should be interesting.
GO CAVS!!! YOU REFUSED TO LOSE!!!

chill/zanes
Looking at it from a different perspective, i think Zanes players lost their composure when "the incident" happened. I also, think the referees lost control of the game alittle after "the incident". I had a birds eye view of the whole thing as I was only a few feet away. Chillicothe grabbed the mo and Hitchens started to get open looks. Zanes needed to call Andre's number more as there was no answer for him. Many times he had a clear path to the rim and didn't take. Key coaching move was when Kellough allowed Hitchens to bring the ball up the floor and used the big bodies to screen away from Ced with high picks and get his shot. Pratti was rattled early with the physical play. I have seen this kid play many times, he just doesn't miss those easy (open) baskets around the rim. He played with no confidence. I'm sure everyone has their own set of rose color opinions, but this is mine. I will bite my lip about the Hitchens incident, he's a talented high school BB player. This is a game Z-ville let slip away!
