I have wanted this for years, have a Lawrence, Scioto, Jackson, and Gallia county conference, that would be awesome.

I would add Pike, Ross, Pickaway, Meigs, Hocking and Athens Counties to that mix also. Ten Total Counties. With 49 total teams. Six doesn't have football.
There would be:
3 D2 Schools
5 D3 Schools
16 D4 Schools
13 D5 Schools
12 D6 Schools
Lawrence County Teams
Ironton D4
Ironton St. Joseph (Central) D6.........Non-Football School

Army you have 44 football playing schools listed and I added Symmes Valley to your list of Lawrence Co. teams and put this together. I took all 45 schools and put them into 5 different divisions based on geography and competition.
Division 1
Logan d2
Teays Valley d2
Jackson d3
Circleville d3
Logan Elm d3
Chillicothe d3
Vinton Co. d3
Westfall d4
Waverly d4
Division 2
Huntington d5
Southeastern d5
Unioto d4
Zane Trace d4
Paint Valley d6
Adena d5
Minford d5
Piketon d4
Wellston d4
Division 3
NY d5
Trimble d6
Athens d3
Alexander d4
Federal Hocking d5
Eastern d6
Southern d6
Meigs d4
River Valley d4
Division 4
Ironton d4
Rock Hill d4
South Point d4
Gallia Academy d4
Portsmouth West d5
Wheelersburg d5
Portsmouth d4
Lucasville Valley d5
Coal Grove d5
Division 5
South Gallia d6
Notre Dame d6
Northwest d4
Green d6
Sciotoville d6
Symmes Valley d6
Fairland d4
Chesapeake d5
Oak Hill d5
This would give each team 8 league games and still have two open spots for rivalries. I don't think anything like this will ever happen in our area, but you never know.

how many bleedin teams you want in this here league

Re: Is there a chance to form a OVAC type league in SE-Ohio?
I don't want any of those teams in a new league. I happen to like the one NY is in, but I got bored and couldn't resist.

Buckeye 91
not a bad divisional breakdown. But that is helluva alot teams in a league. How would you crown a champion one for each division??

As many positives the OVAC has, there are negatives. You can just look in the past two years that two new leagues have formed within the OVAC. The Buckeye 8 and the River Valley. Because the OVAC is so big and covers such a big area many champions are crowned without even playing each other in some sports like football. Does it help other sports? Sure, but lets be honest football is king and the bread winner.
Ask Zanesville how the OVAC has helped them? 40 plus teams in the OVAC, yet in B-Ball Zanesville can't find anyone to play and was not eligible for the first ever OVAC B-Ball Tourney because they did not play enough OVAC teams. Do you think Zanesville would have been 4A champs? Yep, but because no one wants to play them Zanesville gets left out.
I believe leagues of 8-12 teams is the best way to go to fight gas prices. The bigger is better attitude does not work.

I think a league like the OVAC is a bad idea.
You don't really get a true champion.

Yeah one champ in each division. Trying to crown an overall champ would be a nightmare. I got bored one day and tried to break all the teams army had listed into divisions based on geography and competition, based solely on that I thought it was a pretty good overall league. The down side is that a conference involving that many teams would probably be destined to fail if any of the teams decided to drop out. And we have seen that league commitments aren't a given anymore. I think hiring someone to administer it would require a doctorate and six figures at least.
