Final: Oak Hill 55 Harvest Prep 48
Re: Final: Oak Hill 55 Harvest Prep 48
how many of oak hill's players are not from oak hill originally?
Re: Final: Oak Hill 55 Harvest Prep 48
No it does not matter, they are at Oak Hill now..
I can not believe a Webster fan would talk about a transfer..

Borden and Ondera played at jackson last year before transferring.
Hale wound up with 17 and 10 in the 1st. Never heard his name mentioned the 2nd half....but it sounds as if him getting 10 early inside forced HP to change and open up Borden and Ondera.
THe big 3 were indeed big....and the freshmen were solid.

LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL.
Wow, this is comical. Luckily for me, this is exactly what I expected to happen, and now I can fully explain myself.
Did I ever complain about South Webster receiving a transfer? No sir. Did I ever 'complain' when I heard the news about Oak Hill receiving transfer(s). No sir. Read the threads from the summer when the kids decided to transfer.
Now, want to hear my problem? Don't EVER, and I mean, EVER, call me a hypocrit if you're from Oak Hill. Why don't you look back about 4-5 years ago when South Webster's girls actually had a couple transfers (and ironically beat Oak Hill both times). For some reason, Oak Hill was FURIOUS with that. They stated that Mike Hughes "recruited" these girls. They even went so far as to MAKE SHIRTS WITH THEIR OWN MONEY staying "Home Grown Oaks", and wore it to the game. Well, those shirts were awfully cute. And it was cute that everybody from Oak Hill was mad. Hell, I hated the fact that Africentric had so many transfers, but it's a part of the game.
Yet, as soon as Oak Hill boys receive multiple transfers for boys basketball, they embrace them with open arms and want to bash a school from Columbus for being a "Prep" school. Get out of here! Don't even think "Prep School" has anything to do with it. They can get transfers exactly the same way you guys can, however their parameters are more stretched out due to being parochial.
Transfers are going to happen, period. And always will. I just absolutely laugh my (insert word here) off at the people from Oak Hill who just tried to call me a hypocrite. WOWOWOWOWOWWWWW!!! I've honestly never laughed so hard in my life.
Next year I'll be sure to wear a shirt that says "Home Grown Jeeps".. Hows that? Would that make me feel better that we don't have transfers? Would that make me feel better when we get beat? Knowing that even though we just lost the game, WE ARE HOME GROWN JEEPS BY GOD!!
hahahahah.. you children need to quit. This is not an arguable topic. I am not hypocritical, I have accepted transfers my whole life (and that counts when Brigham transferred in, when one of our best players in the 90's Kyle Lemon transferred to Minford, all the way to Africentric beating us with multiple transfers).
So please, continue to call me a hypocrite. I need the laugh!!!!

sportsfanatic3---I am the one who called you a hypocrite and I am not from Oak Hill. I am simply a fan of southern Ohio basketball who wants all teams to do well. Transfers are legal, so deal with it.

Obviously you did complain this summer about the transfers as you are the one that started the topic and went as far as calling me out. So yes you did complain. I would leave that part out of your argument because obviously it struck a nerve somewhere or you would not have started the topic in the first place

A great big, huge southern Ohio congratulations to the Oaks!!! Awesome job! After watching Western lose to Harvest Prep on a buzzer beater last year, I was really hoping another Southeast District team could get them this year. Keep it going Friday night and get to state!

Oh, and to the other who said I suffer from Oak Hill envy. Trust me, I'll never have that problem. I get to go home every night with a state championship ring on my finger. I THINK I'll be ok..
Did you play or coach on that State Title Team?

lol.. I deleted my post, not worth it.. maybe I didn't make myself clear enough on another thread. I wish nothing but the best for Oak Hill. I love Coach Persin to death and if theres ever a coach that deserves a state ring, it's him. He's put in his time..

I think you all are missing the point what SF3 is trying to say is don't put yourself out to be the victims here. After winning against Manchester in the District Finals Buzz Fisher stated on the radio that it is time to go up and play a Columbus all-star team. That is ironic being that earlier in the season you started 3 kids which 2 didn't grow up or attend high school in OH until they moved into the distrct from a neighboring school and another before he left the team moved was in his second year of open enrollment. Earlier in the year that would be 60% of your starting lineup not born and breed Oaks. I don't think SF3 was calling your program out he was just saying stop it with the woa is me David vs. Goliath comparisons about taking on prep schools. Good luck Friday will always root for the (740).

I agree totally with sf3 about Oak Hill's whining when South Webster won with some transfers. Just like most schools, open enrollment and transfers are complained about until they are a benefit to that school. His "prep school" comment was solely to start an argument, but that does not make the comment any less valid.
