Bassmaster
I think we should figure out a way to fuel our vehicles with locusts

Then you could only travel every seventeen years.

THE LAST TIME THEY WERE OUT , YOU COULD NOT EVEN HEAR YOUR SELF THINK OUT HERE. RIGHT NOW I HEAR JUST A FEW, SOUNDS KINDA COOL. AT FIRST THOUGHT I WAS HEARING A BULLFROG. BUT STARTING TO SEE A LOT OF SHELLS. AND THEY WILL BITE , YOU HEARD IT HERE FROM SOMEONE WHO KNOWS, REGARDLESS WHAT THEY SAY. USUALLY THEY WON'T CONFRONT YOU IF YOU ARE USING A PIECE OF LAWN EQUIPMENT. BUT LAST TIME I WAS ON THE RIDING MOWER AND GOT PEARL HARBORED BY THEM.

If they are coming out now, when will they die and be done? This is a serious question because I'm not from around here.

Thanks, I honestly didn't think of Googling it. The site I went to said that the adult cicada lives 4-6 weeks. You say they last the whole summer so that means they just keep coming and coming. Also, they say that mowing isn't recommended because it attracks the bugs.

no just the opposite , when you are running a weedeater, mower, blower they shy away, , even horseflys will. and not usually try to bite while equipment is running. but this one particular time i just happened to be on the rider, and just got covered by them. another thing that will bite is those dang lady bugs they turned loose to feed the turkeys, but they will not eat them.

They must not like the heavy rain we're having because they're dragging their bodies onto my backporch, several of them.
