In baseball I'd say Ironton in SL baseball. Then Rock Hill or Wheelersburg in JL baseball. 11-12 boys would be Chillicothe or Wheelersburg. The 9-10 boys is up for grabs.

Scratch Chillicothe from the 11-12 year olds. I was told they didn't want to travel to and from SP so they have withdrawn from that tourney.

I too heard that. Didn't they win the district last year? It does seem weird that they are so far away and still in our district. I am sure that all the teams down here will be compaining if they have to travel all the way up there. Probably won't get the tourney anyway especially if they don't want to travel down here.

Does anyone have the brackets yet for the 9/10 year old boys at Portsmouth and the 11/12 year old boys at South Point? Thanks.

I remember when all-stars used to be the big thing around here and now they dont even have a team since Sciotoville joined with New Boston to make NewVille...this is year 3-4 I believe they haven't had any all-star teams. Hopefully one day soon I will be able to see that league split and Sciotoville to have their own Little League system again and bring it back to how it once was.

I can probably get the 11-12 but it does keep changing. There is no set final yet. I know right now Sp plays Wheelersburg at noon on the 28th and win or lost they play Monday, 30th.

The brackets are continually changing due to teams dropping out in all divisions. The Lawrence Co. teams meet Friday at 7:00 and the Scioto/Ross Co. teams meet Saturday and all leagues should have updated brackets at that time but I'm sure all are subject to change.

Chillicothe did win the 11-12 district last year. I too think it's odd to drop out of district play. That is pretty much the entire reason for participating in the Little League system.

Actually there a lot of kids who just like to play and get better at baseball or softball. Some just play for the love of the game and don't even care if they make all stars. Still others are there for winning and winning at all costs no matter what kids get hurt or stepped on along the way. I am glad Little League can be there for all the kids not just the all stars.

I'm all for playing without all-stars. If that is how the leagues feel, they should play without being involved in Little League International. I'm sure leagues could organize teams that could play without the expense of being involved in Little League. My point was not a win at all cost league is best. My point was that if you are going to participate in the Little League system, I don't understand why one would play without all-stars. If you are not interested in tournament play, I would think a non-Little League system would be a better fit.

OSU ... would you happen to know if the senior league tourney is at SP?

I heard about 2 weeks ago that it was but i never had a chance to follow up on that.

If it is would you be able to post the matchups as you did for the 11-12's

Any word on the 7/8 Boys tournament at Clay?

I believe they started on Saturday and I've yet to talk to anyone who knows anything. If you have any info, please post.

Thanks.

Ironton won without a loss. I think Wheelersburg was 2nd and Green was 3rd.

I was told that SP is currently still hosting the SL tourney but that may change. It hasn't yet. Here are the matchups (if no teams drop out).

5 teams only.

Fairland vs. RH

Ironton vs. Green

SP will play the winner of Ironton and Green.
