Re: Playoff Chances
I thought I had heard last year that is a reason Lancaster does not get playoff games anymore. It will be interesting to see if that senario plays out where west and valley could play if all those teams are still alive.

Doesn't Portsmouth's new field have turf? I'm not sure what the seating capacity is, or if they are even interested in being a host site, but it's definitely a neutral site.indianabuck wrote:I thought I had heard last year that is a reason Lancaster does not get playoff games anymore. Re: Playoff Chances
Schools usually charge for parking during playoffs as most revenues go to the state. Not saying you have to but there really isn't any other reason for a school to bring in security, extra plice for traffic, etc. unless they get something out of it for their program as well.
Re: Playoff Chances
Maybe you are right Bucks09. I was doing some math last night and kept coming up with 0. I was trying to add up Ny's playoff wins in the past decade. 0-6 in the past decade in week 11 would make it hard to reload every season for that tough TVC schedule. Please help me if my math is wrong.

I cant see FC winning friday night or winning a playoff game in the near future!clbbig wrote:If they win out Fairfield Christian should be in. But fri nite against youngstown christian will be very tough.
Re: Playoff Chances
I actually can see fca win on fri nite with a great effort. They have accomplished a whole lot in a short period of time. This is only our 2nd yr of playing a fully sanctioned ohsaa schedule. we also have a legendary coach and one of the best coaching staffs around. so dont count us out just yet.
Re: Playoff Chances
As usual, SEO is weak again. I didn't see anyone at the begining of the season winning a Regional Championship. But at this point, Nelsonville-York has a reasonable chance. Other than that, no one else does. Most will not even make it to the championship game. I'm sure there will be some laughable games , depending on the match-ups. Even worse, the competition this year in other regions will make it extremely difficult for whoever wins the SE region, which will include many area Columbus schools.

In this area Athens,Logan and Nelsonville York should get a playoff and a little bit further south is Jackson.A-Town Big Dog wrote:Logan is in Hocking Co. N-Y certainly is capable and Athens could be a choice with the new renovations and field.indianabuck wrote:OU has not hosted a playoff game in 3-4 years. The only places in Athens county that has hosted playoff games is NY and Logan. OU I think feels they are too big now to host a game there even though they were nice enough to let Athens play there last year after their stadium was destroyed. That is why I never said OU when thinking about NT Vs West or Valley.

N-Y hasn't had a losing season in the last ten years either to go along with their six trips to the playoffs, I think most teams/fans including your Cavs would be more than happy with that success, considering they had five losing seasons and three seasons at .500 to go along with their two playoff appearences.CavsFan08 wrote:Maybe you are right Bucks09. Re: Playoff Chances
West, Burg and Valley have played for Regional Titles...Valley beat 2 columbus schools en route to the Reg 19 title game (Grandview Heights and Bishop Ready) and lost 26-21 in the title game. West played in the state semis..Paladin_II wrote:As usual, SEO is weak again. I didn't see anyone at the begining of the season winning a Regional Championship. Re: Playoff Chances
What you say is true Big Dog but when you play in a league where you are guaranteed 5 wins a year and might, might have a couple close games a year it's a lot different than playing in the SEOAL, just saying. I've (just here in the last couple years) heard a lot of TVC fans saying N-Y could compete yearly with the best in the SEOAL. Well, let's set up the schedules for the future if that is what they think because the proof would be "in the pudding" as they say and I don't think it would be pretty from the TVC perspective in the long run IMO.A-Town Big Dog wrote:N-Y hasn't had a losing season in the last ten years either to go along with their six trips to the playoffs, I think most teams/fans including your Cavs would be more than happy with that success, considering they had five losing seasons and three seasons at .500 to go along with their two playoff appearences.CavsFan08 wrote:Maybe you are right Bucks09. Re: Playoff Chances
Nelsonville-York might be getting some more computer points this week if Bishop Ready can beat Dayton Christian the game was just picked up by the two and Dayton Christian is a D5 school. So would be nice to get the secondary points if Bishop ready can pull it off.
Dayton Christian is sitting #10 in D5 Region 20 with a 7-1 record!

Re: Playoff Chances
Pretty sure you can't charge for parking during the playoffs unless you charge during the regular season also.
That's part of the reason Jackson charges the $2.

Re: Playoff Chances
How come you put so much effort into belittling a bunch of kids that play for the best teams around the SE District? What's your purpose? It's like that in every single sport....the SE rarely competes or win state titles while nearly every other district compete and win with regularity.
