Warren, River Valley visit GAHS (Jan. 20-21) (Revise)

Post by jottings »

Warren (10-1) & River Valley (1-10)
at Gallia Academy (3-9) Jan. 20-21)

Thoughts.

Warren (10-1) downed GAHS 80-33 at Vincent on Dec. 13. River Valley (1-10) and GAHS (3-9) will play once this season.

Warren is averaging 66.1 ppg and giving up 47.6. GAHS averaging 43.3 ppg and giving up 61.3. River Valley averaging 47.5 ppg and giving up 56.8

Warren Local is tied for first place in the SEOAL with a 4-1 record. GAHS is fifth in league action at 1-4.

River Valley’s lone win was over Meigs, 57-43, on Dec. 10. The Raiders have lost nine straight. Gallipolis has lost five in a row since its 62-47 win over Meigs on Dec. 17.

River Valley will be searching for its first varsity cage win over GAHS since Dec. 30, 2004 when the Raiders prevailed 43-32 at the University of Rio Grande. GAHS has won 13 straight from RVHS since that time.

Overall, GAHS leads the county series with 29 wins against eight losses. GAHS has won 23 out of the past 24 games against the Raiders.

Friday's game will be a triple-header. Don't know about Saturday's game with River Valley. Does River Valley have a freshman team this year?

Will be a struggle this time against warren without the two seniors. Gallipolilis is looking better on defense of late but still needs to put up more points. Warren pressed pretty heavy the first game I'm sure that will be in this gameplan too

Haven't seen rv play yet this year. Inter county rivalry should make it a good game . I take GAHS tho by 6

Had it in the back past few days. Going to Huntington, W. Va., early Friday morning to get some X-rays at St. Mary's Hospital. Maybe they can find out what's wrong. Might have to miss Blue Devils two home games this weekend.

Found out this morning it is arthritis. They gave me some pills and told me to cut back on my exercises until further notice.
