Re: Fairland 14 @ Tolsia 21 Final
The dragons almost pulled the upset but just ran out of time. Injuries hurt the dragons once again as boomer was lost early in the 2nd qt. and Duty went out right before halftime. The dragons played with a lot of heart in the second half. Cole absolutely gave everything he had last night. He literally left everything on the field. We have two weeks to get healthy before our next game. I expect this team to get on a roll and challenge for the OVC. I was extremely proud of the effort this team gave in the second half. No matter what anybody says this is a good team.So practice hard and rehab green and lets get ready to rock the Hill in 2 weeks. GO GREEN!!!!!!!!

When is Fairland going to begin seeing the results of the coaching change? Seems to me that Coach Wilcoxen had already won some games at this point last year. Good job BOE!!!!!!!!
Re: Fairland 14 @ Tolsia 21 Final
this is my first ever entry that i said i would never get involved in but i have to voice how disappointed i was in the Dragon fans at Tolsia....when we had 2 attempts to score at the end and the boys were trying to get everybody pumped up there was only a handful of fans left in the stands!!!!! Everyone was filing out with time left on the clock. How does this make the team feel when they are out there playing their guts out?? And i might add that it's the same ones every week playing their hearts out. For a team with not that much depth we have to find an 11 or 12 we can depend on for 4 quarters!!!!!!

In fact, I believe we are experiencing the results of the coaching change. Nothing against Snyder, nice guy, but many believe this would have been the turn around year that Wilcoxen was building toward.
Personal agendas are not what BOE decisions should be based upon. (Perhaps voters should remember such things when elections arrive.) The decisions they made were really weak and are costly and irreversible for the seniors.

I would like to also commend the Dragons on playing a great 2nd half. The effort was incredible even though the results were the same. No offense to the present coaching staff, but I wish one BOE member would say they may have made a mistake blaming losses of last year on the coaches. I think our present coaches realize its hard to win a game with players out and the subs getting beaten down too. I do commend the boys again for a great heart-felt effort this week. 2 weeks to heal and get ready for OVC.

I saw one board member there at the game and I was just wondering if he was going to go down in a drunken stuper like he did 2 years ago and tell the coaches the same thing he told Wilcoxen and his staff the last time we were at Tolsia. This in my opinion would've been the year the dragons made the playoffs. Way to go Lewis, Brumfield, and Leep. I would like you guys to man up and apologize to the upperclassmen or resign. This should've never happened what a crock of crap . Thanks

Re: Fairland 14 @ Tolsia 21 Final
I feel the same way about the board members. If im not mistaking last year almost all of the fairland football players showed up to a board meeting to show their support for wilcoxon and the rest of the staff. If they fired last years staff because of disciplinary issues and cursing at the players then they need a reality check. ive been around to a few practices this year and heard the same things ive heard in recent years. So I expect some people at a board meeting sometime this year stating their opinion about all of this. ILL GO WITH YOU BUCKING RED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Re: Fairland 14 @ Tolsia 21 Final
I just realized something when I got up this morning!Every team Fairland has played is still unbeaten!Playing a tough schedule is going to pay off in league play.Of course it also seems that everyone else in the league has done the same thing ,Which I guess is why Chesapeake has the top record of league teams at 2-2!I just dont know I think anyone could win the conference!I personally think that South Point still has to be the favorite,They have played a really big schedule and hung in with everyone they have played much like we have! But I think this team could be right there. As far as playoffs I dont see anyone from the conference making it because of everyones poor out of conference record.

Maybe the BOE's plan is going exactly as planned? Maybe football has little meaning on the eastern end?

Hey Earp where was these excuses and support last year. This is the exact same schedule as we had last year and you know what, the same problems are hampering them but because it's good ol rog and the boys suddenly its ok. Well according to the new standards set by our board this group has exactly 1 more loss and they're gone. You know what ,I love Fairland football but this is a crock. Don't tell me that these guys aren't feeling the pressure too. And that is what this post is about,You "fans" need to step back and put philosophies behind and let coaches coach and players play. I dont think these guys are trying to lose anymore than we were but its ok this year because there are valid reasons. Well I have a news flash for you all there were valid reasons last year too but they were ignored. And another little piece of news for our board, the middle school is undefeated. At least they got that right.

Try to lose????I dont think anyone tries to lose!Look we have had this conversation before,For the sake of the kids lets not stir this anymore okay?I was just trying to put up a positive post by saying that we had played 4 unbeaten teams. And Clayton I am sure the coaches are feeling pressure to win.And I also think it is great that the middle school team is unbeaten.Good for them!

Re: Fairland 14 @ Tolsia 21 Final
You missed the point Earp. What I was saying because of the precedent set last year snyder and group are probably feeling pressure too, maybe not from the board but in general and this is no more fair this year than it was last year. And I agree with the fact that the kids are whats important I have not posted one negative thing about this staff on here but if anyone wants to know how I feel all you have to do is ask. The whole point of the post was it's a hell of a lot easier to set in those stands and gripe than it is to make a win or lose call in 25 seconds. I watched last year as a coach that taught me a lot and a guy on defense who is like a brother to me, catch a lot of crap from a bunch of clowns who wouldnt know a football from a pumpkin, and I'm watching the same thing happen this year and for the same reasons . And you being positive is a good thing but you should have spread that out over the last few years. I am going to continue to support Fairland football and those boys. And in the final analysis what Clayton Dement thinks doesn't really matter. Its what is best for those boys that matters.

Re: Fairland 14 @ Tolsia 21 Final
And we were in agreement before that I was out of line and I shouldnt have done what I did because it was effecting the kids because they get on here and read this stuff. The fact remains though is that we have lost to 4 unbeaten teams, and we have been right there and could have won any of those games.I think the one that is most encouraging is hanging with West the way we did.I feel that team may make a deep playoff run being in D-5 now!Hey man I know you get fired up I do too!But I am getting better at not getting so fired up!
And I think the schedule is hopefully going to pay off!And I know we played the same schedule as last year,It reminds me alot of our schedule back in 1993 and 94.Our schedule in 93 had a combined record of something like 70-20,The very next year same schedule was like 40-51.In 93 we make the playoffs at 9-1,In 94 we dont make the playoffs at 9-1.Just happens that everyone on our non conference schedule is up this year. And as you are I am in no position to do anything about it!

Re: Fairland 14 @ Tolsia 21 Final
We all can do something about the situation...vote out the current board members....they are the ones that wanted to get rid of Wilcoxon....they should have just left him alone and let him do his thing....but no, they had to intrude because of their own personal agendas.
