What system works best?

Post by old school »

A system that you do over and over again or a different system each week . I think reps are important but some people do not like to hear your ideas . Thanks for your time .

Are you referring to offense, defense, special teams, or weight training?

are you asking like this is a question for a coach, or a player. having had been both. you for the most part do things repeatedly, esp. if they work. but different opponents call for different strategies. it's all about the matchups. does a wr, need doubled this week. or do i stay in man. is that defensive linemen going to take 2 to block, or just one. basically it all depends on scouting reports, and making adjustments on the fly. do you need to call a timeout when you see a formation that you've never seen. fundamentals are fundamentals. tackling, blocking, and protecting the ball. after that i would liken it to shoe shopping one size does not fit all. --------------- thats all i got to say about that. :-D

The system that wins! The system can only succeed if its based around the players.. Thats why you develop the players through conditioning and weightlifting so that have more options!

Had a cousin that played for W'Burg a few years back and I called him every week to see what was going on. He was talking about how they adjusted the whole O and D vs whom they played. Pretty remarkable as an observer but sometimes it didnt work. Most of the times it did. But i think you need the identity of what you want to do, ie... run the ball and stop the run. If you practice it so much, you get really good. But that year for Burg, they did really good. An abberation I guess. Kids bought into everything that was thrown at them. Spread, power running, 4-3, 5-2 defense etc... No state championship though. Maybe got too much for the kids when it came to playing teams that are out of conference and you only have 1 week to adjust. Fun yr though!!
