Maybe this is why we have some kids that do not come out. Why practice if you dont play. It is like working and then not getting a paycheck. I know this for sure, no kid will get any better just watching on the side lines of a varsity game and the AD and coaches owe it to these players to try and reschedule if neccasary different games. I know that these kids look forward to playing these games and the rug is always pulled out from under them with no explanation and with no promise to try and schedule with someone else. The 9th grade rescheduled with Rock Hill and it was great. We lost but I promise you we got better because we played and learned from playing, nothing can be learned from sitting.

Fun!!! IMO I'm saying they need to play !!!!your not going to get any better if you don't !!! These kids work there butt off!!! for what? just to say i'm on the team!!!There mind is set from day 1,know weights in the program this season!!! imo its out of control!!!I HAVE 1 QUESTION WHO would COACH THIS TEAM !!! For just "love" of the game???old school under the weather last night !!! Fun just trying to give me a hard time YEA RIGHT!!! This is bad ,AND WHO IS THE HEAD COACH I QUESTION!!!SATURDAY morning films some time yes some no!!!!It matters where the college game is that day!!! THIS is a 24/7 job year round in my book!!! To have a wining program.Like I said before when you have talent put them on the field, just let them play !!!when not is the key you have to coach!!!!

talked to a buddy of mine tonight and he said his AD has found games for him many times and just gets on the phone and he also has no problem scheduling a team twice ar play on a different night. If our AD wanted these kids to play than it would happen, apperantley he does not want them to play. I say again if I were a parent of a player of the JV team I would step up and be heard. The only reason I am so passionate about this is because the team will get NO BETTER from not playing. It is not that hard to pick up the phone and make a few calls, just make a effort. If this has been done someone correct me until someone does, in my opinion our kids our being left behind.

BBallin Fool is correct that 24/7 sums up a coach. You do it for the love of the game, just like the players "play" A game does so much more than a player participating, it allows the coach to see if the method of teaching is working for his/her team.

oldschoolblue wrote:Why did Gallipolis not play there reserve game tonight? I went to Mariettas sight and saw where they were playing Warren tonight when our schedule showed Gallipolis playing Marietta. Is this a new schedule on the Marietta sight, I think not. I talked with some people earlier this season who said that the Big Blacks were waiting on the feild to play Gallipolis on the Monday after the varsity game, i do not know if that is true though. These reserve players deserve a chance to play and can not possibly get better if they do not. Who is dropping the ball here? It can not be that hard to go over these schedules and not wait until the last minute to check them, I am also guessing that noone will make any effort to schedule someone else or reschedule some of thes games. If I do not do my job you can guarantee that someone will call me on it or disipline will be handed out. WHO IS TO BLAME, these kids work very hard with the assumption that they will get to shine and prove thereselves in a real game. Someone owes these kids an apoligy. This crap happens year end and year out and yet nothing is ever done. GO BLUE

ALL OF THIS GOES BACK TO THE AD :12222 ........ AT GAHS, IT HAPPENED IN BASEBALL LAST YEAR, 2JV GAMES THIS YEAR (SO FAR), AND AT LEAST 1 OTHER 7 TH GRADE GAME !!

ALL IT TAKES- PEOPLE -IS FOR THE AD TO MAKE SOME CALLS (OR EMAIL OR FAX) TO EACH SCHOOL AND GO OVER THE SCHEDULES-- USALLY WE PLAY MOST OF THE SCHOOLS AT ALL LEVELS 7-12 AT SOME POINT IN THE SEASON.... THESE MESS- UPS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN- EVEN IF IT IS OUR OPPONENT DOUBLE SCHEDULING (LIKE MARIETTA) AS WE WOULD KNOW WELL AHEAD OF TIME AFTER CHECKING.

HECK LAST YEAR THE 9TH GRADE FOOTBALL TEAM WENT TO COAL GROVE FOR A GAME AFTER SCHOOL AND HAD TO WAIT TIL 8PM CAUSE ANOTHER GAME WAS BEING PLAYED !! THESE AD'S NEED TO DO THEIR JOB--- THAT'S WHAT THEY ARE PAID TO DO. TALK ABOUT HURTING YOUR PROGRAM... IT HURTS MORALE, AND HURTS EXPERIENCE WISE AS WELL !!! WHAT A SHAME --- THIS SHOULD NEVER HAPPEN !!!

I found out today that there was a "mix up" in the 7th grade scheduling. This is entirely unexceptable, these ADs should be held accountable. They are not doing there job. I would guess there is nothing being done to try and reschedule these games. These kids are getting hosed and the parents as well. I bet our AD is loving it because it saves a few dollars on road trips. I say give parents back some of there 90.00 fees. It only takes a little time to get on the phone and try and schedule some games, Meigs, River Valley, Point just to name a few. Our program will continue to suffer as long as this happens.

Congrats to NY, and I am sure even though Wellston got beat they will have gotten better from playing. Good Luck to both teams at least there playing. Maybe someone from Wellston or NY could call Gallipolis and schedule a game or two.
