Browns draft possibilities for 2012

Post by dazed&confused »

The Browns will have the #4 pick in the upcoming draft. Will they get an impact player? A QB? Will they waste it?

I will be happy with RG3 or Blackmon

Browns should try and pick up Flynn since he'll be an unrestricted free agent. Pick Blackmon if he's still there, or trade down a few spots and pick Jeffery.

The Browns will have the 4th pick, the 22nd pick and the 37th pick in the draft. With any luck at all, they should be able to improve the roster quite a bit. Of course, they could also play let's make a deal and end up moving up (doubtful) or down (likely if Blackmon is gone at 4). Lot's of talk about the QB at Texas A&M. Also rumors that Mike Sherman, who coached him at A&M is a candidate for OC.

First off, Blackmon will be gone, the Rams will take him with the second pick. The Browns would be wise to draft RG3 and spend the rest of the draft getting other weapons for the offense to help him.

A lot of speculation concerning the Browns pick. Conventional wisdom is they will trade up for RG III after his combine performance. Also, the opening price is expected to be both first round picks this year and the first pick next year. Too high? If he projects as expected, maybe not but too many holes for the Browns to fill to give up all thise picks. There might be a market for the 4th pick if the Browns want to deal the other direction. How about Tannehill and an OL prospect and Hill (WR)?

They better not give up the house to move up for Griffin IMO, Holmgren will not do that when they need so many players,if he is still there at 4 maybe take him but I think it is a huge risk to even take him at 4,kind of reminds me of Troy Smith great in college but not cut out for NFL where it takes a quick read pocket passer, and the defenses he played against would really make me nervous if I was the Browns,Best one was Texas and they wasn't even in the top ten, they already got a quarterback who came from the same conference who had great numbers and we saw how that turned out. If they do take him I hope he excels, but I would take a running back or receiver or corner and maybe grab a quarterback in the lower rounds cause there is probably a superstar NFL QB out there nobody is even talking about and I hope Holmgren can find him.

Agree 100% Bolt I love RG3 but we need a WR and a CB like you said give me Blackmon and the kid outta LSU.... there is no way I would give the Rams all they want for a pick that could be a bust I say wait on Barkley

vegas, people might think I'm crazy but Kellen Moore was the most impressing QB coming out this year for my liking and nobody is talking about him,I know people will say well he's too small and too slow and didn't play nobody, but his accuracy and defense recognition is unmatched and gets rid of it quick like you need in the NFL and throws a beautiful deep ball in stride to the receiver, theres been plenty of small QBS succeed in the NFL over the years and when I seen him against Georgia a top 5 defense that's all I needed to see and he was just behind RG111 in QB rating. He could end up being a bust, but it wouldn't surprise me 3 years down the road teams will be kicking them selves for not taking a chance.

Dont know who the Browns will take... lots of rumors flying around!!! But if the Browns dont end up with either a big time QB or WR (both big needs) then this draft will be a bust!!!

I think it is time to stick to a solid strategy. RG III is a great athlete but how many times have we seen a great athlete bomb out? I think you still need to fill as many holes as possible with the picks you have and then you can work on needs. Colt may not be the long-term answer but there is a kid coming out of USC next year at QB I like a lot! And it won't cost you as much. Give up all those picks and as good as RG III may be, he will be running for his life with no one to throw to!

Dazed I like Barkley too,,,but the problem is the Browns will probably win just enough games to keep low on the totem pole and somebody else will nab him before it gets to them, wish Holmgren will just wait and sell the farm next year and who knows maybe Colt will do a complete 180 this year and start playing like he did in some of those games the year before.

I think Colt could be a competent game-manager type QB. He may even get you to the playoffs in the right situation. Problem is, I don't ever picture him "going to Disney World".

If the Browns don't get Flynn, they will trade up for RG3. And, Kellen Moore is not an NFL QB. He may go undrafted.
