it would be nice to see the athletes in bricker, swords, perry, journey, evans, morgan, murphy, pendleton, compton all play in the new system of basketball for west..with all the excitement on the football field it would be really something to see them run on the court

Bricker will be the best player on West, and the offense will probably be ran off of his decisions. I believe Perry is going to play, if so he will be good bringing the ball down. Journey isn't playing, neither is Morgan or Compton (Football). Not sure if Pendleton will, he probably won't if it interferes with lifting. VanGundy will be there doing what ever he can to be leader and win games. The don't have alot of size outside of Bricker and about 1000 guards so the run n' gun should be intresting. As far as Timmy Evans, he plays basketball much like he plays football, literally. There have been many times I have seen him tackle or attempt to tackle a player

You really don't think Pendleton can keep up?

Agreed. Pendleton is the best basketball player in a VERY talented sophomore class. West will be exciting this year, but next year and two years from now, they will be GOOD.

lmfao!!....wow if u have seen wat our offense is you would know wat im talkin about...our offense and defense makes our most althletic kids throw up.....and pendalton is by far the best football player in the softmore class but defanatley not the best b-ball player...i think auger could tear him up...i know some freshman like daulton kenyon who would break his ankles..lol...if he does play he wont be a star so he might as well not even show.

You seam to be all about this freshman class. And it also apears you have a real eye for althetic kids......NOT!! This years freshman class is very good but i don't think they will be "breaking any ankles"

Like I said...Pendleton is the best in the sophomore class. I didn't say anything about him compared to the freshman (though I'd take him over anyone in that class, too).WestB-Ball5 wrote:lmfao!!....wow if u have seen wat our offense is you would know wat im talkin about...our offense and defense makes our most althletic kids throw up.....and pendalton is by far the best football player in the softmore class but defanatley not the best b-ball player...i think auger could tear him up...i know some freshman like daulton kenyon who would break his ankles..lol...if he does play he wont be a star so he might as well not even show.
For the record, also, Pendleton is a post player. I don't think he would need to cover point guards like Auger and Kenyon. Players match up for a reason.
If everyone we're hearing comes out, the varsity guys could be the following 13.
Seniors: Justin Van Gundy, Travis Perry, Alfie Bricker, and Timmy Evans.
Juniors: Tyler Austin, Cody Groves, Cody Adkins, and Alex Thompson.
Sophomores: Trevon Pendleton, Kyle Locher, Tanner Journey, and Andy Sparks.
Freshman: Kyle Auger.
If more upper classmen come out, some sophs or the freshman can be dropped.
Re: Portsmouth West 08-09
That sounds about right, I believe...I'm 100% on Perry though. They should be very fast. Also if Pendleton plays he could be tough to stop in the paint he is very strong. Does anyone have the schedule?

Yes, Pendleton is a good athlete, but he is not the only good player for west, there are a lot of talented and great athletes on the team. They will only be as good as they want to be. I think they have the coach and I know they have the talent, this should be a very good season. GOOD LUCK WEST.
