Re: Nelsonville-York vs River Valley (Dec. 28th)
Im only talking about the Varsity, i know the JV boys work now, as did these kids when they were freshmen but girls, friends, drivers liscences, attitudes outside influences haven't kicked in yet!
Re: Nelsonville-York vs River Valley (Dec. 28th)
Let me correct the information conveyed regarding a RV fan and whoevers daughter.
A RV fan was cheering when the refs finally called a fouls that led to the technicals when an older gentleman approached a woman, pointed his finger at her and proceeded to tell her she had cheered enough and she was being disrespectful. She proceeded to tell him that she was on the visitors side and she would cheer for those boys and he should mind his own business. The girls approached the woman and explained that the man thought she was insulting the player who had been thrown out. The woman then told the man she was cheering for RV not against any Buckeye player. The "know it all" in the tie cam storming up the bleachers telling the NY fans not to talk to them. Keep in mind this man had no idea what was going on and he actually made things worse. Some other fans on both sides chimed in, a police officer pretended to regain order and then it was done. In her defense, that man felt like he could approach her, use intimidation and stop her from cheering.....he started something he shouldn't have!
There is a home and visitors side at most games so I don't understand why you are supprised to hear cheering for the other team if you are on "their" side!

Re: Nelsonville-York vs River Valley (Dec. 28th)
THIS IS WHY RIVER VALLEY BASKETBALL IS STRUGGLING:
the coaches required the players to do charging and loose ball drills today in practice just as all good coaches do at various times during the season......after the practice, one players mommy and daddy actually went around to the players houses taking pictures of floor burns on the players knees in an attempt to get the coaches in trouble with the administration! I CANT MAKE THIS STUFF UP! POSSIBLY THE DUMBEST PARENTS I HAVE EVER SEEN OR HEARD OF! when this kind of stuff goes on with such idiotic parents, the program has no chance...

Hmmmmm well at the moment you are talking about the parents of 11 kids on the basketball team who are upset about the situation.... I however choose to use my real name on SEOPS instead of hiding behind a screen name.... I guess we will see you at the next game???

yeah, your a real man running to everyones house, taking pictures and posting negative stuff about a program your son is a part of on a public message board. exactly how many times have you taken your complaints to the coaches and spoke about these issues with them face to face. i would guess zero.npeifer wrote:Hmmmmm well at the moment you are talking about the parents of 11 kids on the basketball team who are upset about the situation.... Coach Hill is a class act learning under great coaches as a player. sounds like daddy-o isn't happy about his sone actually having to work hard. Look like his kid may be poison to the team and needs dropped.

Nice try... I was at work when all of this was going on but I received phone calls from many of the concerned parents. The coach refuses to listen to any opinions regarding basketball other than his own.... And since only parents and the coaches were aware of this, which are you??? Doesn't matter... What's right is right and what's wrong is wrong... My kid works as hard as any all year around and I am harder on him than anybody I assure you.... But when all the other parents took pics I agree that there was an issue... And if there wasn't an issue why is Coach Hill now calling and saying "I didn't realize how badly the kids were hurt" BS on that!!!!!!!!!!!!
You know it and I know it..... Enjoy the thread as it goes... I'm done holding my tongue. I'm here to talk to anyone about basketball, children and life in general...
Every single thing that a coach does should be in an attempt to do 3 things for our children:
1. Make them a better person
2. Make them a better student
3. Make them a better athlete
What occurred today did absolutely nothing to help with any of those 3 things.....

ALSO, i would hope that the RV administration would contact whoever is in charge of these online broadcasts. Anyone who posts negative comments on a public message board about a coaching staff that they cover on the air is unprofessional and should be removed from the broadcasts. hopefully the superintendant will take care of this garbage.

It's time for a lynch mob to get Hill and Graham out of there, great job by the parents.
Re: Nelsonville-York vs River Valley (Dec. 28th)
"the coach refuses to listen to any opinions regarding basketball other then his own" well he is the D!@# coach and the A.D. i might add. That's the problem today parents want to run the show. Why in H@$@ would a coach li sten to a parent on how he should do his job? When they took boarding kids butts with a board out of the school systems thats when things went down hill with kids and the parents attitude. I'm sure some parent had a hand in getting that band also. River Valley hasn't ever been a powerhouse basketball team that I can remember and I'm saying parent are the reason.

Re: Nelsonville-York vs River Valley (Dec. 28th)
This thread shows one of the main problems at RV!!! You have one group of parents trying to support the coach, players and school.... And another group or person deciding that he don't like the coach and decided that he would be a cancer to the program!!! I didn't realize that coaching a 14-15 year old boys AAU team made you the local expert on basketball!!!!
Re: Nelsonville-York vs River Valley (Dec. 28th)
How do you expect the kids to work and play as a team...when the parents can't even get along????

It's time for both sides Coaches and Parents to stop the crap!
The coaches need to stop making them tougher and concentrate on eliminating turnovers and bad shots, imho they are not phycologists they need to stop analyzing every situation i also hear the kids say practices are so routine and boring its unreal, they are too negative! Days of carl and howie are gone!
Talk to them like men not stray dogs!
Parents realx its sports and every parent is reacting out of fear their kid isn't going to live up to the parents expectations! You will learn the studs of the freshman class may not be the studs when they get to the varsity level unless they work at it! Grass is always greener somewhere else when the new wears off it will be the same old crap!
Both sides need to stop look and act like adults!
