This is a scimmage , There wont be too many teams beat the Oaks this year .They are a solid team with maybe the best coach in southeast Ohio.

Two of the finest SE district teams last year and both will be very good again. The Oaks return everything and VC lost some valuable players....but will reload and win a lot again this year.

Scrimmage score will mean nothing....but give players valuable minutes versus good competition.

Good Point! They just started practicing Monday and I'm sure both teams will be pretty rusty.

Still, two wonderful programs that should have great years(particularly Oak Hill)

No they don't play in the regular season. There was an article in one of the Jackson newspapers a couple of months ago that stated that a Jackson-Vinton county holiday tournament was being talked about for the future. I don't know if that was much more than just speculation on the part of the reporter but that is something that I would like to see happen. A possible downside to that is that Wellston and Vinton County could end up playing three times in a season.

Wellston and Oak Hill ended up playing 3 times a couple of years ago.

Boilermaker....Two years ago, Oak Hill beat Wellston three times.

The first was in the season opener in the infamous 27-25 game when Wellston slowed, and I mean SLLLLLLOOOOOOWEEEEEDDDDD, it down to a crawl, but Corey Farmer found the lane and drove in for a layup with one second left.

On a personal note, that was — by far — the easiest game ever to keep stats for.

The second meeting Oak Hill won over Wellston at the University of Rio Grande Classic, when Jake Walburn unfortunately blew out his knee (torn ACL) that night.

The third was in the Division III sectional tournament at Athens before Oak Hill upset Alexander in the sectional final.

oak hill returns everything this year. with high expectations it'l be good to see how they handle the pressure..vc lost some talent but has will reload..look for it to be a good scrimmage to get both teams ready for the upcomning season..scrimmages dnt mean anything anyway. so there really is no winner

I'm not really for sure about the Vikings, but I hear the Oaks have everyone back who played any significant amount of time. Good Luck to both teams!

... is this one going to be AT Oak Hill or AT Vinton Co.? what time does it start? duh!!!! I just looked at the thread title LOL "@ Oak Hill" - my Oldtimers is kicking in ... should be a good scrimmage for BOTH teams to learn from, to find out areas of their TEAMS that need tweaked in the coming couple weeks before opening up that first week in December ...

Between 5 qtrs of play, I think the final was 111-55 in Oak Hill's favor. In the 2nd qtr OH won 35-10, but these are just scrimmages, so we'll see how things go from here. I know there are still some things OH is working on to make this team even better.
