Prayers for Coach Mike Chancey from Meigs and his family his mother passed away friday. Calling hours were tonight and the funeral tomorrow.

My prayers go out to that family. Coach Chauncey is one class act. I officiated several football games at Meigs, when he was first getting started. He was easily the classiest football coach i ever dealt with. I am sorry for his loss.

A very nice lady and a great family. Everyone says what a class act Coach Chancey is and it is true. It came directly from his mom and dad. Two of the nicest people I have ever known.

It means a lot that you guys took the time to post this. I am positive that he will never read it, he is not a big fan of these sites but I will pass along the prayers and well wishes.

The Real Coach Chancey, Charley (22 years at Meigs, Several years at Pomeroy and a few years as a Assistant at Marshall) Will have a lot of free time on him his hands these days, he has been taking care of her 24/7 for the past 5 years so if you are close to him please stop out and spend some time with him or take him to dinner, just get him out of the house.

Mike and Rick are both great people and will miss their mother greatly, I am sure they appreciate the support.

The "First Lady" of Meigs Football will be well missed.

Prayers for the Chancey family...I feel Charlie was one of the best coaches ever in the old SEOAL...And GAHS could have had him after Chuck Stobart left Gallipolis in 1961, but local officials felt Charlie was"inexperienced" at that time. He went on to beat Gallipolis the next nine or 10 years while coaching at Pomeroy and Meigs.
