Re: ironton 2009
Well.......
I know the backfield is gonna be stacked! Word is that Birchfield could return next year, that is a plus! So therefore plenty of size and speed in the backfield. LOTS of talented kids coming up....I promise you that!!!

Re: ironton 2009
Well Lutz had a few freshmen dress for a few of the later games and they practiced with the team too.
Re: ironton 2009
I wanted to add that next year's seniors and juniors were the ones who went unscored upon in regular season in LL. Although that doesn't make much of a difference now, it's something to keep in mind.
Re: ironton 2009
the nasty......this is about the kids.
Go back to wherever it is you came from and leave us alone.

Re: ironton 2009
Ironton will be good next season I don't know if it will be because of the freshmen class that will be sophomores next year. I think it will be because of the class that will be seniors next year, there are some tremendous leaders in that group.

Re: ironton 2009
I'm VERY excited about Ironton's program the next four years. Ironton returns some darned good starters this year and they have a loaded freshman and 8th grade class coming up. This 9th grade class this year, in my opinion, is something very special. Not only in talent but attitude as well. Back to the 80's with them? Maybe so!
Then, I'm pretty excited about the prospect of Ironton having the coach with the most wins in the state next year as well. He needs 6 to tie Terry Malone, Hamilton Badin *retired* and 7 to take the lead all together. Could you imagine the school who would want that notched up against them? how fitting and wonderful for Biggdowgg is it was Portsmouth!

Re: ironton 2009
I know I am an outsider, but let me just say that I hope Ironton is better next year.
I also hope there is a better attitude on the team than they showed last week in the playoffs. I was shocked by the huge number of mistakes and penalties made by a program with such a history of excellence on such a stage. Obviously a majority of the players played their hearts out, but there was something not right in that team last Friday in Jackson.

Yeah, I believe they had a player quit the team and go up into the stands of the Ironton crowd. Question, where were the parents!!!???If that was my kid I am dragging him by his ear back to the field. But I guess then someone would turn me in for child abuse.
Re: ironton 2009
Please quit making assumptions about last friday night's game.
I agree our boys didn't have their head in the game, therefore all the penalties and mistakes. I will take it as a lesson for the younger ones going into next year. We have one of the winningest coaches in the state and believe me the kids do respect him. I know because my son still has two more years to play and he always respects his coaches! No one is proud of that night, but it's in the past. Just know that there is definitely a bright future for this team.....take my word for it!

Re: ironton 2009
As for the backfield, Lutz will have plenty to choose from. We have a few returning starters in the backfield plus alot of speed in the upcoming backs. Not going to mention any names because I am not sure who will get the call next year, but I know what Lutz has to work with.

That is not an assumption, it is a fact. An Ironton player quit and went into the stands. The coaching staff was yelling at him to get out of the stands. Facts are not assumptions!!
Re: ironton 2009
Fist of all he did not quit, he was told to go into the locker room by the coaches...so yeah you are making an assumtion. If you aint from Ironton or on the team, how could you even know what the facts are?

Re: ironton 2009
Just talking...I'm hoping that the Hager kid will be completely healed and stay healthy for Ironton. His father was a brick and racked up like 3,000 yards his senior year at Rock Hill, in a ten game season. I watched him (the son) at Ashland bowling over people in a JV game and he is a freshman. His father, in my opinion, is going to be one huge assest! he WILL get the fans back on their feet when he gets in the crowd..Jack is a rowdy guy..heck, not only will he get a few on their feet..he'll probably get a few going out the gate too
but Ironton needs these fresh faced fans in the stands. When was the last time you heard the fans about the stomp the stadium down before the team came out? The TIGER ROAR? How many times? Jack is one rowdy guy..I appreciate a rowdy one!
Not saying who I think would start cause..good night, that's 8 months (hear that guys) 8 months away. Not that long really, is it?
