Stegman, Ondera, Hale, and Yates. It will most likely go to Ondera or Hale. I think Stegman and Yates will be held back by age. I think the award should go to the best player regardless of age, but if it's close it should go to the upper classman.
As for college ball... I really like what I've seen from Hale. He's a big strong kid with decent touch and he could still grow. I could see him as a D-3 or NAIA player.

This may be a stretch in some people's eyes, but I think Treg Cunningham (Valley) would deserve some consideration. Maybe not POY, but I know that team is alot better with him. Valley is pretty balanced with Yates, Arbaugh, Utley, etc.. But Treg really handles the floor well, and passes well. I know he is awfully valuable to his team anyway. I might be a little biased. I absolutely agree that Valley is a better team when Cunningham is on the floor. He really makes it easier for Yates, Arbaugh, and Utley to get open.
But seriously, you're gonna embarrass the kid with this Uncle Pmow stuff!

I think that Hank Leslie is at the top..He is very skilled.I think Yates is very talented but is also young. I agree with ignert that his next 3 years are going to be huge for the valley indians.

Wow! I really can't believe the Hank Leslie talk when it comes to college. The kid is a solid player, but I don't think he has the size or speed to play anywhere near D-1 or D-2 ball. I just haven't been impressed the few times I watched him play. He may be able to play D-3, but I think D-1 is totally out of the question.

You have got to be kidding me?
Comical.
Leslie is a solid player, but you have no clue what a division one player looks or plays like.

I think a lot of people are confused thinking hank would play post at the college level and having played with him for 2 years I could see him being an outside/inside small forward at a small D1 college....and as far as strength is concerned he gets stronger and stronger every time we play, I used to be able to shove him around but now the tables have turned, he takes me easily...and im 6'5 205 pounds.. he is stronger than he looks....and as for speed you can't coach that but you can replace it with want and determination and I have "NEVER" met someone who wants to get better and make it to the next level as much as him, he practices hard and listens to the coaches and has the tools needed to make it at the next level, and if you don't believe me talk to him for yourself

Not a slam at all... He's a good solid player, but D-1 is another world. I don't doubt that the kid can play college ball, but as of right NOW he is not a D-1 caliber player.
Hell, look back about 10 years ago at Jerry Barlow... Jerry was a much better player and he didn't have D-1 offers pouring in. Granted Jerry could have played D-1 ball... especially with the work he put in once he was at Rio. In my opinion, Hank isn't as good as Jerry. And I don't see him being in the same league as Cam, Aldridge, or Burleson.
Once again... Good player! Not D-1!

The last time I checked Northwest is 3-4.

Right now I think you could make an argument for quite a few young men. Kyle Ondera and J.D. Hale from Oak Hill, Andy Stegman from Wheelersburg, Sean Smith from Minford, Zach Utley and Cam Arbaugh from Valley, Harrison Martin from Waverly and Hank Leslie from Northwest, and Alf Bricker from West is putting up some impressive numbers. I am sure there might be a couple of others that I can't think of right at the moment. It will be interesting to see how the second half of the season unfolds.

Yes, Yates is playing well - as is the freshman from Waverly. I just can't see enough coaches voting for a freshman. Just my opinion.
