12/23 South Point over South Webster
Re: 12/23 South Point over South Webster
Watch out I've been told some people on here have other agendas. Whatever that means. Conner Scott, Matt Malone, Wes Loop, to name some players who could start. Oak hill game was really just one quarter, Burg also, last three we were blown out. Young team, two seniors, one junior, and two sophmores go to the finial four in 04. Experience, 06-07 team goes to regionals with two returning players who seen alot of minutes. Maybe we are spoiled by players that work hard, or spoiled by how much we were getting out of our players. Why??? time will tell.

Look at the teams Webster has lost to: Portsmouth, Oak Hill, Minford, Wheelersburg and South Point. Those are 5 pretty solid teams right there (all of them are District Tourney-caliber teams and a few are even State-caliber) and Webster was actually in a couple of those games before fading in the second half. I don't know if it's coaching or if some of those teams were taking Webster lightly in the first half before realizing they do have some talent there and then playing harder in the second half. As with everything, it probably falls somewhere in the middle.
While improvement in the win column is not apparent, these kids are competing hard. The jv team has some nice young talent and most of the varsity will be back next year. I'm more interested this year to see how they fare against the D4 portion of their schedule and in the D4 tourney. They just aren't going to win many SOC II games this year, so don't hold your breath if you're expecting it.*

I would guess that if the team can stay together and positive through this grinding SOC II schedule, they will fare nicely in the tourny. I am not saying they are a lock for the state, but I would think they would be competive in any sectional, district game that they may play. All schools go through a cyclical "down" time, this is apparently their time. Good Luck to them the rest of the way.
