You can now follow this season of Pirates football via Twitter. Visit http://www.twitter.com/burgsports and click the "Follow" link. You can get instant notifications when my photos have been posted and Pirate news and updates ...directly to your Twitter account or mobile phone.

I'll be on the sideline shooting photos of each game and if I can make the time, I will tweet scores throughout the game. I haven't done this before, but will if there is enough interest.

Thanks,
T

Thanks T

This is great to see everyone exicted about the game.

I say it is time to move the BURG game to Saturday Night for the Tri-State Area to watch.

How did the Pirates look in the scrimmage on Friday?

Wheelersburg looked strong on both sides of the ball. Their QB was quick and elusive and throws the ball well when needed. Their defense impressed me, always flying to the ball and never giving up the big play. Piketon has some holes to fill, but looked good at times on both sides of the ball as well.

Overall, Burgs speed and size will make them the favorite to win the league again. Good luck to them!

I've heard that Lang will be FB and Shank will be QB, but who knows till week 1? Things can be different than what we all have heard

Lang has been at QB. Schank will probably move to a HB position

A VERY reliable close at hand source told me that the coaching staff thinks Lang will be at FB and Shank at QB

Common sense you start the junior to give him 2 years of exeperience going into his senior year.
Lang is good, but he's really fast and would do better as a FB running the ball. Both have very similar styles in QB.

Mark it down Shank will be QB1!

It wouldn't surprise me to see both at the helm this season and possibly some direct snaps to either one as they line up side by side so the defense has no idea who is getting the ball. Both can handle the position very well.

You should stop talking to the Football staff or as a staff quit talking to you. I am sure that he told you that in confidence. If you dont think them high-school guys read these reader boards, your crazy. Let's just brag about our teams on here and leave it at that.

I love that first picture with the grain silos in the background! As a Piketon fan, I look for the Burg to have another solid season. Their team speed top to bottom is fast. Good luck to them!

I agree with some of your post but why in the world would you play him had Fb? The FB at the burg is just a glorified guard. They have a couple kids that can play Fb. If he's not playing qb then save him for D, if he's not the best D player they have he is certainly one of the top. I think both will see time at qb.

Anyone heard yet if the scrimmage tomorrow is going to be moved to Jackson? Would like to see them play before they open up next week, but don't know if I can get off work in time to make it to Jackson

Everything I'm hearing about this team sounds very good. Lot of depth at almost every position and a lot of speed.

This year is the 20 year reunion of the state championship team. Hard to beleive that it has been that long.
