SOC 2
Predictions and thoughts on teams ? JMO
1) Valley - With Yates and returning players will be very talented
2) Waverly - Kretzer and returning 3 other starters from last year will be tough
The rest is a toss up.. SW has Loop , Oak Hill has Norm , Burg has Barrick, Minford got McBee back, West and NW has some good young talent.. I feel S.W, Oak Hill, Burg, or Minford could finish 3rd..

Valley is going to be a little bit behind the curve you might say , if the success on the gridiron continues cause 99% of the expected basketball players are wearing helmets ! But i do expect to see success in basketball also .

Re: SOC 2
Heard over the weekend that Yates ( Valley ) may be going to Ohio Wesleyan to play basketball. Any truth to that rumor ?
Re: SOC 2
I agree those should be the top 2 teams. Last year those 2 along with Oak Hill were the favorites, but Stegman led Burg to the SOC2 title. I am sure there will be upsets along the way and another exciting season of hoops!bballin wrote:Predictions and thoughts on teams ? JMO

Where are you getting the two loses for Valley, I have not seen there schedule. Do you expect them to go undefeated in the league? I know they have Beaver Eastern on there non league schedule but that will not be a loss.
Re: SOC 2
I have them losing to Ironton first game of the season 12/6/11 and one loss in the league to Waverly.SOCFAN1430 wrote:91Grad wrote:1) Valley 18-2

Ironton-Valley would be a great game to see, I can agree with your 2 losses. I think they could lose more than 2 but not many more. This team should be a 15+ win ball club.

Re: SOC 2
If the football team keeps winning, Valley will more than likely not play Ironton that night. I would guess that would be rescheduled. If Valley loses this week, they will probably play it. Would be a tough game for them, but should be a good one as both teams are loaded this year.

Should be a great year for SOC II basketball. I think my Falcons have the talent to beat anyone on any given night.

Re: SOC 2
Seems like everyone is picking Valley to win this year, and why not! Yates is an outstanding athlete. Very quick and has the ability to score from anywhere on the court. And with a good cast around him they should definitely win the SOC 2 title
