Let's Hope Voters take-in consideration schedule strength when they look at Seedings. SOC is a much, much stronger league than the others. Chilli and Elm are locks. But, place boro, mclain, or ch in the SOC vs. Oak Hill, burg, and the (Jekyll/Hides) minford, valley. and nw....it's likely you might see a record more-like the Tigers at 10-5. Chilli and Elm would have a tough game vs. Oak Hill. I'm rooting for some politics with Waverly being a 4 and mcClain a 6. Here goes.....

This very quote is why I love the Post Season. Maybe just maybe we get to see these things play out on the court.

Here is to a open and fair minded seeding this afternoon. May the best teams win and represent the Southeast well as the winners move down to the Convo and try and play through the mine field of strong teams.

GO CAVS!!!

Yea, well.....I've seen both Tiger teams play....maybe you have, too.
McClain is well coached....he gets the most from his players....they are a defensive team which Waverly has struggled against good defensive pressure this season.

But, I still think that Waverly is the better TIGER team....we'll see the results of that in a few short weeks.

Look for the Waverly Tigers to possibly lose-out (maybe 4 of next 6 games) with the intentions of preparing for a victory over McClain.
One big win over the Tigers up North and Waverly is back at the Convo.

ggggGGGrrrrrr!

From WKKJ Website:

In Division 2- Logan Elm and Marietta get the top seeds, with Chillicothe and Vinton County at #2. #3 seeds go to Hillsboro and Warren, #4 to McClain and Fairfield Union. Waverly and Sheridan are 5th seeds, #6 goes to Washington CH and Athens, 7th seeds to Gallia Academy and Northwest, 8th to Circleville and Meigs, 9th seeds to Miami Trace and Jackson and Unioto is the 10th seed.
The #1 & #2 seeds could not meet until the Regional Semis.

Just a question because I would like to think that no one is that ignorant, but are you serious? The SOC being much better than the others was the funniesy thing I'd ever heard in my life untill just two sentences later when I heard that "Chilli and Elm would have a tough game against Oak Hill". The SCOL is way better than the SOC and the SEOAL is much better than the SCOL. The SOC is better than the SVC, SHL and TVC but not even comparable to the other two. I wont even address the other comment. Don't mean to sound arrogant but I watch a lot of basketball and a lot of different teams and I would like to think that I have a good grip on the quality of play.

You would think that Northwest being divsion II they would have a better chance in football in the SOC since they are the biggest school.

Not Again! Please don't open this can of worms, it has been rehashed a million times.

As far as being DII, I believe they are the smallest DII in the state. The divisional breakdown as of OCT 2006 states that DII for Boy's Basketball is 227-406 for boys in grades 9,10 and 11. They are at 228. The next time the count is done, they may be back down.

I agree with the soc2 being better than the scol especially after watching Waverly drill Hillsboro and Miami Trace in preseason scrimmages this yr. I know its just a scrimmage but neither of those teams matched up to Waverly at all and weren't even good scrimmages for us. And Oak Hill can play with anyone any day Chillicothe and Logan Elm included.
Would say this yr the soc 2 is the strongest conferance overall in southern ohio with 5 teams that could or would win the scol and other than Chillicothe would compete in the seoal as well. You need to watch more basketball not to sound arrogant:)

crazymidgets: Portsmouth is 2-6 in the SEOAL and 4-0 vs. the SOC......with wins over Wheelersburg and Minford. The SEOAL is clearly stronger than the SOC...........

And if you want to talk about preseason scrimmages, Portsmouth beat Oak Hill at Oak Hill...........

SCRIMMAGES... seriously... SCRIMMAGES... Preseason scrimmages do not mean a thing. Lokk at the NFL when every year some team goes 4-0 in the preseason and 4-12 in the regular season. I know its a different sport but the concept still applies.

tigers2010onhuddle: Portsmouth has beaten Jackson and Gallia Academy.......and have lost to Zanesville, Chillicothe, Ironton twice, Marietta, Logan, and Jackson. They are now 2-7 in the SEOAL after last night's loss to Ironton.

Portsmouth has been very unimpressive in the SEOAL but has looked just the opposite vs. the SOC........my conclusion from that is the SEOAL is much stronger than the SOC.........
