Re: A Roid
To be honest, I really don't care. I used to be a big baseball fan but I lost my love for this game a long time ago. The ONLY time I watch it is in the playoffs; even then it is not must-see sports. I get p___ed off when they cancel Sunday Night football because the World Series is on. And who are they still trying to fool with the moniker World Champions! America's pasttime is played mostly with Latin players. Not that there is anything wrong with that but baseball is getting to be like soccer. American kids might play it but not like they used to and drop it when they get older. Most American kids relate to football and basketball and it shows up in their popularity among the population. I honestly don't know what baseball can do to reclaim its status as the most popular game in America and all this steroid stuff just puts another nail in the coffin. I'll watch NASCAR until it's football season again.

Re: A Roid
all of what you just said is true, baseball isnt much of a sport that american kids realy work twords, it is mostly basketball and football anymore, at least in this area. but if a kid is good at it they realy should make it their top priority to work twords, there is a much beter chance that they can get a scholarship, and possibly if good enough make a descent living, even if it isnt in the big show, just in the system

A Rod lost his shot at being voted in on the first ballot. As time goes by, it will be forgiven by most and he will get into the Hall.

I dont think so. I think that most of the voters will not forget his admittance to using steroids, thus he will not get in.
I think in a perfect world, Barry Bonds, who is a stuck up punk anyway, should be indicted and have all of his records stripped away. The MLB stats should not even reflect him ever putting on a uniform. Same with McGuire, Clemens, Palmero, etc.
If you are going to keep players like Pete Rose out for lesser offenses (in most voter's eyes), then you have to prove a point with the banned substance usage.
And are people really niave enough to believe they only used them for a short period of time? Does anyone remember how small Bonds and McGuire were when they played for the Pirates and A's? How in the heck do they say they never used HGH or other drugs when they gained so much muscle mass in the 30's and early 40's?
Its ridiculous. I am boycotting MLB baseball until they just kick them out, or if they are already retired, strip every stat they have from the books.
Honest people are paying good money they worked hard for to pay their insane salaries and they have to resort to doing these things to be the best or to stick around for another few years because they make 10 million an year, and are so far in debt they cant retire.
I will get off my soapbox for now, but I think they should be completely banned from MLB baseball. Let them go play in China. Its about time something made in the good ole USA gets shipped over there anyway!

Re: A Roid
After watching A Rods press conference I totally can forgive him. I understand exactly where he is coming from. I mean think back to your early 20's. If you could buy a pill over the counter that was supposed to make you stronger you wouldnt think anything of it. Youd buy it. As for Bonds and Clemens those guys went out and sought out professional help in getting their drugs. They knew exactly what they were doing so no I cant forgive them. As for McQwire was it ever proved that he did anything, but stuff you can buy or used to be able to buy at GNC. I know Canseco said he injected him, but we havent seen a failed test like A Rod or bonds or seen a "smoking needle" like we saw in the Clemens case.

when McGwire went before congress a few years back he pratically admitted it by dodging all his questions with "I'm not here about the past"

He had andro sitting on a locker room shelf behind him in an interview.
Andro was not banned at the time, but it is a performance enhancer.
So yes, it has been proved he did something.

Andro is not a steriod. So no he did not do anything. Taking andro is like taking creatine or any other product on the shelf at GNC that promises to boost your test levels.

Re: A Roid
that goes back to the thing about some products not being banned at the time. when mcgwire played it was ok to take andro....but now it is a banned substance. they cant judge him on that.....thats like saying that the speed limit is 35 today, and you drove 35....tomorrow they will lower the limit to 25, they know you drove 35 today so they will wait untill tomorrow and give you a ticket
