Ny should be stonger the next few years than they are this year. They will continue to win 7 or 8 games a year. NO second level points from Hamilton this year at all.. I dont think it would be the end of the world for Logan. Nice to see NY stepping up to the plate as far as scheduling goes. Good luck to Both. Jamboree would be cool if other things dont work out.
Yeah , unlike the Bulldogs who scheduled Fed Hock, Bloom Carroll and a D6 school from WV.

Green Beagle -

Hamilton went 5-5 the last 2 years, and I think after this year there is no doubt Hamilton probably WON'T be on the schedule in 2011. The truth is, Logan got put in a bind when Athens left the league and we ended up needing a 3-year contract. Most schools will only sign a 2 or 4 year deal. We agreed to a 3 year with Hammy that had us go their twice. It's a nice drive and their program looked to be turning around. That didn't happen.

In '11 I would like to see Groveport, Canal Winchester, Grove City, or someone else like that added the the schedule.

I would prefer seeing D3 New Lex back on the schedule before Nelsonville. We get the same crowd and travel, but if New Lex stays D3 I think they fit better in terms of "perception" than the Buckeyes.

Like I have said, I love watching NY football. I have great memories of LHS/NYHS games. But if Logan wants to continue to build their program, I don't think they have anything to gain from playing the Buckeyes. A D2 over a D5 would bring more criticism than I want to put up with.

Then factor in the shorter trip (other than Lancaster) and the possible increased gate and which is better from an AD standpoint?

Of course if Logan is trying to keep connections with OCC schools that may benefit them in the future in terms of league membership, then it is a no brainer! In that case drop Hammy and look for another OCC non league!

Or MSL. 8)

Logan would get more playoff points from NY than a D2 team with 1 or 2 wins.

These are two great players and I do not mean to take anything away from them, but............
Usually the biggest difference between a Div II and a Div V school is size and speed and that difference will still be there when Angle and Mays are gone.

N-Y doesn't want any part of Logan in the future, they outgrew that perceived RIVALRY years ago. N-Y need to schedule the likes of Newark Catholic (have early openings and not bad trips), Sheridan or New Lexington (Close proximity with good teams to the northeast) or someone like Westfall, Zane Trace or Amanda-Clearcreek (again close proximity with good teams to the west with easy travel). Just my opinion for early season games especially.

This years computer points

Zanesville 48
Pickerington North 40.5
Ironton 37.5
Lancaster 35.5
Nelsonville-York 35.5
Warren 35
Jackson 34.5
Gallia Academy 10.5
Chillicothe 5.5
Marietta 5
Hamilton Township 0

NY is good for 30+ points every year so it's a great pick up for Logan as far as points but getting ready for the playoffs I'm not sure.

as nice as it would be $$$ wise. i don't see this coming true either. as someone has already said LOGAN outgrow this rivalier years ago. seeing that pts wise NY is in the middle of the pack this year would that be the case every year? maybe a 2-4 yr contract but nothing yearly.
