Where were you last week after Athens won? You cut and run as you like to put it. Finishing as an Elite Eight team two years in a row is a fantastic accomplishment for Athens. :-D :-D :-D :-D

Zero Class ... It must feel pretty sweet to finally be right ... I can't tell if you are a broken clock or the little boy who cried wolf!?
You sir, are a piece of work...Internet Tough Guy...Thump that Chest Proud...you were finally Correct!
It only took Athens 13 Games to finally have a bad game, against an opponent who took advantage of their miscues...

ATHENS STILL WAS ELITE EIGHT...
EIGHT out of 106 DIVISION III TEAMS in the STATE of OHIO...

Congrats to a Very Talented Marion-Franklin Squad and Good Luck the rest of the way!
Congrats to our BULLDOGS on another Great Season, just short of the Goal...

I am very surprised by the outcome. I never had any doubt on the Marion Franklin defense, but listening to most talk made me think points would be scored. I knew it wouldn't be a ton on the Athens side though. Now you all understand why there has been only ONE team that has scored more than 19 points on the Red Devils. By the way.... the officiating was horrible. That was a clown crew out there! With that being said...

Congratulations Athens Bulldogs on a fantastic season. There is nothing to hang your heads about. You all accomplished what many teams could not. Unfortunately, you all met a Marion Franklin team that has been battle tested throughout the year and rely's on it really good defense. I hope we may meet up again next season.

Congrats on a great year for Athens. Also congrats to MF. The game is just bigger and faster when you head North. The Speed of MF and strength is just something not seen in this area. Again congrats to the Bulldogs.

It all came down to Athens offensive and defensive line just not being big enough

Athens beat themselves. 360 yards passing but 180-200 yards in penalties. Never can win if u make that many mistakes. Dropping balls wide open in the end zone and deep balls. Time for a state run in basketball. Bring on Warren

Like I said, threads are so much better when Paladin stays far, far away. Congratulations to the Bulldogs on another incredible season and run through the playoffs. And congratulations and good luck to Marion Franklin next week.
Game had a weird feel to it. Tons of flags in the first half, hurting the flow of the game. Dogs being down 12-0 with a chance to get in the end zone at end of 2nd qtr, getting stopped on four downs hurt. MF comes out and has a nice scoring drive to start the 3rd qtr, Dogs down 19-0. IF we had punched it in at the end of 1st half, might have been a different locker room at halftime. As it was, MF just had too much on the lines for Athens to overcome. We never could get Trae loose, credit to MF.

Speed and size along with Marion Franklin was game harden by playing stronger completion during the season

So the 318, 322 and 300 pound players for MF got bigger throughout the season? LHS 72?

What did they do, eat the opposing lineman each week?

Great season 'Dogs!!!

Everyone forgets you lose eventually. Unless you are a state champion, there is always a team bigger, stronger, faster ... MF may understand that as well when they square off against ASVSM. (and it will have nothing to so with MF's schedule either.)

Good luck to the Red Devils the rest of the way - I'll be cheering for Region 9 regardless.

Did M-F have any D-I athletes ? More than all the Athens D-I athletes ? That was a thumping for all the D-I athletes Athens has. M-F appears to have played other teams with few D-I athletes. Don't know how they could have prepared for Athens athletes.

And of course ASVSM even plays a more demanding schedule than Marion Franklin! Also according to the Dispatch M-F will not meet ASVSM until the finals if they continue to win!

Athens offense just had a bad game. Burrow still had 360 yards passing. Logan 4 playoff wins, Burrow 4 playoff wins. Burrow was still best player on the field. That's idiotic if u don't think that
