Re: Congrats Jeremy Smith of Meigs: TVC Ohio Offensive MVP!
As I stated earlier if this is based only on stats We'll arrange to give you some stats.
Big storm a brewin for next year.

Re: Congrats Jeremy Smith of Meigs: TVC Ohio Offensive MVP!
Is this award based on season stats or stats with in the Ohio Division? If so I believe Arnolds stats might be better. Plus he didn't even get a chance to return but maybe 2 kickoffs all year in the Ohio Division. Meigs I believe tried onside kicks everytime. Arnold ran for over 200 yards against Meigs. Had 80 plus yards against Athens and yes against Alex he did nothing. There bigger boys just pushed NYs line all over the place in the Mud. I think there is more to it than just stats. To many things happen during a game or game plans change. Arnold was NY's game plan every game. People tried to stop him. If you stop Arnold, its going to be a close game. If you stop Smith, Wells can still pick you apart!
NY without Arnold 4 wins, Meigs without Smith they still have enough Offense to score points.
If you go on Season stats,
Arnold - 145 carries - 919 yards - 14 TD's .... 6.3 (Y.P.C)
Smith - 119 carries - 780 yards - 15 TD's ... 6.6 (Y.P.C) .... [8 rec - 88 yards]

You forgot one stat. Arnold set out at least 5 quarters this season because of the score. Thats why the stats thing dosent work.

Thats not Smith's fault...he does everything that he is asked to do plus some...he sat out a few quarters too
Re: Congrats Jeremy Smith of Meigs: TVC Ohio Offensive MVP!
i still do not see why there is an arguement. if you are asking if arnold deserved the award the clear answer is yes was he nelsonvilles "O" yes!
but then try harris improved athens( not by himself) alot.
alexander improved alot.
smith was just a little better. that is not us saying that.
why take away from arnold and the others by arguing this? you make him and nelsonville sound like sore losers and neither of you are either.
congratulate smith, pat your mvp on the back, and shine that trophy, agree that this has been 1 heck of a year.see you next year.

In no way do I wish to take anything away from Mr. Smith I say congratulations!!!
I just feel that some of the coaches have formed cliques "The Good Ole Boys Club".
The MVP & Coach of The Year should go to the ones that get the job done in the League.
Last year we won the TVC outright and our coach was not COY.
This year we shared the league title, there were Co COYs' and once again we were not honored!!!!!
Now someone out there with more Knowledge than me tell me how this could happen.

Re: Congrats Jeremy Smith of Meigs: TVC Ohio Offensive MVP!
Political intrigue is a possibility, I am a firm believer in that.
This year, that may have played a part - but there was a logical excuse for how things played out so there is really no 'proof' to stand bye.
Smith was deserving of his award ... Ryder was deserving of his award ... and to be honest, I don't think there are many folks out there that are complaining about SEAN ARNO winning the coaches award. Yes, Ryan Adams grabbed a share - but dragging a team out of a bottomless pit and guiding them to a 9-1 record - is worthy of attention. That coaches award could have been based on 1. ARNO was so well deserving its not even funny, whether they won the league or not (Arno taking the Spartans to an 8-2 record is far more impressive than Boston taking the Bucks to a share of the league title) ... Your talking about a guy who has led NY to how many 'ouright' titles since he's been there? Actully sharing a title could almost be viewed as a downgrade for Buckeyes football ... Hence - coach of the year going to two guys who led teams, who are never good, to unbelievable new heights this season.
Look, its pretty hard to 'sweep' post season awards and NY has been doing it the past 7 or 8 years ... Don't be upset when one season ends and a couple of 'other' teams actually win something ... like they say 'you can't win em all' ... and with Arno and Adams rebuilding their programs, Chauncey still coaching a group of Meigs kids that can be tough any given year and Wellston experiencing a 'low point' that is sure to swing the other way soon .... its only gonna get harder for NY to win everything every year.
I would seriously be happy about that if I were a Buckeyes fan, Trimble's season this year was down right unexciting and has been the last few years ... they just dominate the league, which makes the second half of their season a bore with 40 and 50 point blow-outs every Friday ... If that's what NY wants, join the Hocking ... You want exciting, fun football with intrigue and tough competition - stay in the Ohio and fight for the title and post season awards each season.

only someone who was at the meeting can say if there is a "clique" that has been formed to vote for and against some individuals, or a school. so that must be coming from someone (a coach) who was there, or people are just making it up. i think all the players prolly played all the quarters in the tough games. so that is the best judge if you are going to compare stats. how did they do against the top 3 teams? i think 93bulldog answered that.

Yes there is a coach who wins it year in and year out with the small team in the ohio div. and you want to make it look like it was easy because teams were down the last 8 years? What a back handed slam on NY. Nice BD93. Put NY in the hocking. So you think for the last 8 years in a row they have only lost 2 league games because everyone else is down and this is a downgrade because they beat and undefeated Athens team to share the title. They beat and Athens team with an MVP noseguard and Coach of the year but its a downgrade? The absolute smallest team in the league and the youngest team shares the league but it is less than their outright championships. Sounds like it may be more since they didnt have an MVP player or a coach of the year but still managed to win the league AGAIN. I wish NY would go to the Hocking. At least they would run up against more class in coaching. Dont get on here and slam the hocking div like you did either. didnt your home team just drop to a smaller league? What would the bottomless pit look like in the SEOAL? So the Hocking is boring blowouts of bad teams? does that about sum it up BD93? For some of the small schools this is exciting has intrigue and good competition. I guess we found out what you think of our Hocking div!!! I guess we need to remember this when we see you in the in our small league gyms.

It's getting rough in here!! I am going to say this! There is nothing anyone can do to change who won POY, or COY. It's done and thats it!! Congrats to young Mr. Smith from Meigs!! Now that is letting him have it GB. Let's just hope you don't suffer the same punishment my friend did for arguing with the same person. If so, it was nice knowin you on here. As a Trimble poster maybe I should mind my own but I cant any longer. We all know coach Boston over achieved with all the players he lost from last years team. But for some reason the other coaches don't see it that way. I thought he won COY last year but with 20 some seniors I guess I kinda get the argument why he didnt. But this year he didnt have many seniors. After he lost to Alexander on the mud skating rink I dont think very many people expected them to beat Athens. I would bet before that game if any coach was asked which group of players he would want he would say Athens. Honestly I thought Athens would beat Nelsonville by 20 or more points. But Boston found a way to beat them. Or atleast Adams found a way to lose to Boston again. Either way how can you give the one who lost with more talent even COY?

No T.J. I am not a coach just sombody that has made an observation.
I checked the TVC Hocking,SOCI, SOCII, and the SEOAL it's kinda funny that the COY award goes to the coach that wins the league in all of these.
So either my "GOOD OLE BOYS CLUB" theory is on track or we must become a "bottomless pit" and work our way back to deserve the award.
Sorry but at NY neither of these is acceptable..........
And you should really be glad that I am not a Coach as I would give everyone some serious stats to look at as I would not pull any starters until the final tick goes off the clock.....

who would you have left in against athens or alexander to get those serious stats? or even against meigs? i didnt realize anyone was taken out in those games. when i watched them on 15 the announcer never said any starters were resting on the sideline. as for coy it sure does look like there is a bias. wonder why that is? it is a shame if that is true though.
Re: Congrats Jeremy Smith of Meigs: TVC Ohio Offensive MVP!
how can anybody argue that the alexander coach does not deserve the coy? did anybody believe alex would win more than 1-2 games? look at the preseason poll, 1 person voted them a chance to win it all. they have been terrible for as long as i can remember. thank god it has went away. coach boston and most of the nelsonville faithful would NOT change places with alexander for anything football! i know here in meigs, i would allow you to have the poy IF we could have the league title. i can't speak for mr.smith but i bet he would too!

Re: Congrats Jeremy Smith of Meigs: TVC Ohio Offensive MVP!
If you have followed this group of young men from Alex. you would know that they had great seasons from 4th, 6th ,8th and 12th grade. This is a great group of kids that deserve respect as they have earned it.
If we are to come together as a league and support each other year in and year out the awards need to go to the ones that have earned it. It has been said on this site that the difference between these two offensive powerhouses was minimal so why in the world would the league not want to honor both of them?
As for coach of the year, this award should go to the ones that win the league PERIOD as you cannot do any better in the league than win it.

Re: Congrats Jeremy Smith of Meigs: TVC Ohio Offensive MVP!
The Bucks share the title with Athens. Would of thought Athens and NY coaches would of won it.
Look at what Boston did. One offensive player "Arnold". Everyone tried to stop him, pretty easy to game
plan that. Buckeyes had a very young offensive line and QB and so on.
Athens, full of seniors up front, good backs and outstanding QB.
Boston did more with less talent than anyone in the league. Maybe the Buckeye fans should look at this as a compliment. Boston for 7 years now has done more with his players than anyone in the league. Maybe
the league coaches just know its going to happen year end and year out, so anyone with a desent year would deserve the award. Can't take anything away from Adams or Arno, I believe they did a great job also.
How can you not go with the coaches that win the league???????????

Well evidently the other coaches just dont like Boston. No other way around it from where Im sittin. So why dont they like him?
