The senior class as a whole, across all sports, is bad. That has a lot to do with it. The sophomores and freshmen are pretty tough, resilient kids who care. We have around 40 in junior high so the numbers issues shouldn’t persist for much longer.Notsofastmyfriend wrote: Mon Sep 12, 2022 10:16 ambeg003 wrote: Mon Sep 12, 2022 10:11 amIt may be wrong in your mind but it’s a fact so do with it what you will.Notsofastmyfriend wrote: Mon Sep 12, 2022 10:02 am
Now begg, I was told youth can’t be an excuse. So wrong answer. Haha
I’ve said youth from the start is a big problem. Pretty sure I’ve said, let them grow some. It’s just hard to believe a D4 Ohio program is starting as many sophomores as Warren does. Hopefully they stay in the program and develop and don’t get discouraged.

Warren was having some of its best success in recent memory. I don't think a housecleaning and culture change was a priority. As a new coach without ties in the community, keeping the staff seems smart to me.

The upside to Morgan signing up for road trips to Point Pleasant and Ripley is what, exactly?EasternDspy wrote: Sat Sep 10, 2022 10:02 am This is an unofficial Twin State league game.
Also hearing if they can afford the buyout that Morgan is interested in leaving MVL.

Ripley isn’t in as of now.formerfcfan wrote: Mon Sep 12, 2022 11:25 pmThe upside to Morgan signing up for road trips to Point Pleasant and Ripley is what, exactly?EasternDspy wrote: Sat Sep 10, 2022 10:02 am This is an unofficial Twin State league game.

Marietta
Warren
Fort Frye
Point Pleasant
Morgan has zero chance if they stay in MVL big. They are interested and they are looking into to seeing how much the buyout is.
Morgan fits way better in this group.
Re: WK5 WARREN VS FORT FRYE
I highly doubt any buyout could be enforced in high school sports. The worst thing the MVL could do to Morgan is blackball them from non-conference games. Hopefully things work out to get them in.EasternDspy wrote: Tue Sep 13, 2022 12:12 amRipley isn’t in as of now.formerfcfan wrote: Mon Sep 12, 2022 11:25 pmThe upside to Morgan signing up for road trips to Point Pleasant and Ripley is what, exactly?EasternDspy wrote: Sat Sep 10, 2022 10:02 am This is an unofficial Twin State league game.

I really expected Warren to be better this year. I know they're young. But it's been a disappointing start. I still have faith in Jimmy Peyton.
Having said that, I expect this one to be ugly.

It’s an hour and half from Morgan to River View and hour and half from Morgan to Point Pleasant. I don’t think travel would be an issue. I think it comes down to does Morgan want to stay in the MVL past 2024 where they have to move to the big school division and compete against Tri-Valley, Sheridan, and John Glenn. If they decide to look elsewhere this league makes the most sense.formerfcfan wrote: Mon Sep 12, 2022 11:25 pmThe upside to Morgan signing up for road trips to Point Pleasant and Ripley is what, exactly?EasternDspy wrote: Sat Sep 10, 2022 10:02 am This is an unofficial Twin State league game.

I think Fort Frye is the pick in this one. Fort Frye’s offense has really been rolling this year.

Re: WK5 WARREN VS FORT FRYE
Cadets rushing attack is better than ever how is Warren DL and LBs going to stop them? Warren lost to Morgan and Fort really beat them bad in 2 Qts.

Fort Frye's challenge is getting healthy by week 11.

Schedule actually gets tough last 5 games
Linsly is very good passing team watched vs Cardinal Mooney they won 28-14
Point Pleasant is a top 10 AA school that almost beat 4-0 Gailia losing (22-21)
Caldwell will be 7-0 when they play
Williamstown will be 8-0 when they play.
Cadets only “easy” game might be @Logan.

Fort Frye will get star CB/Wr Braxton Brown back tonight. He has 4 Ints in 3 games this year. The season record is 9 set by Justin Massey and Jay Baker.

Even if it’s true I would never say this in the newspaper. Like you’re giving excuses before the game even starts. Like I feel bad for the Warren Srs that don’t play.
