I'm a state employee and I'm not sure what you mean by "pay up like the average working person". I pay taxes, healthcare, and into retirement. Is there anything else private sector workers pay besides those 3 things I mentioned. Oh not to mention every state employee took a pay cut for the last 2 years, which just ended this July. But they don't print that in the media, they make people like you think we get free healthcare, retirement, ect. So sir what else should we pay for? And what does all this have to do with football?moonshine wrote:Something has to be done The State of Ohio was 8 BILLION in the hole! Calling our Governor names will not solve the problem. You don't piss all state employees and have them vote for you next election, likely everything he has done will be undone!

The Athens Messenger had an article on the front page of the sports section today stating that Trimble has reconsidered and no longer wishes to join the Ohio division.

Just read the article online..I can't believe there was serious consideration for this! It would make absolutely no sense!

I used to work for the "Goverment" and I paid a hell of a lot more than 10% for health care.....moonshine wrote:Orange and Brown wrote:Not sure what you mean by "free ride" by government employees...... They pay taxes to just like me and as far as I know YOU....

I told you it was being considered! What the Messenger didn't report is what was voted on at the TVC meeting last night. I guess that story will come out about a month from now by how fast TVC actions typically end up in the newspaper.

The problem with your plan is when jobs are cut out from under a lot of those well educated people they will become competition for many of those with less education who are looking for a job. Most employers will hire the more educatated person when it comes to quality jobs. So go ahead and cut benefits and jobs and increase the competition for the few jobs that are availiable. This means more people out of work, not paying taxes and on the government dole. Be careful what you wish for.Something has to be done The State of Ohio was 8 BILLION in the hole! As for the TVC, Yes schools like Eastern, Southern and SG chose to dodge Wahama and others in the league and form what will now be known as the weakest football league in the state of ohio.

Well we actually pay 20% for health insurance. And Since you got such outstanding benifits when you worked for the state and your so concerned about the budget, I'm sure you are going to be more than willing to pay some of those benifits back that you didn't deserve because you were just freeloading off the state. I'm sure they would be glad to take the money back.
