Fort Frye coming off 20-0 loss to River looks to bounce back.Belpre lost 39-0 to Paint Valley.

The Cadets weren't too bad last night. I don't know anything about Paint Valley, but it sounds like this year's Belpre team is a lot like last year's Belpre team.

The way Fort Frye played last night they will make all three of their next opps look good. The Lang boys are all they get take one out or stop one you are done. River stopped Spencer Lang and that left his younger brother to do everything and we saw what his everything was. This # 33 did not impress me two touches one was a nearly a turnover and the other was a decent run but I don't think he will be much of a factor.

Knowbody claimed Fort Frye to be a playoff team or anything they are a bad team that plays an awful schedule.Fort Frye will crush Belpre. They are a 4 or 5 win team.Cuthbertson had 1 run for 11 yards let's get him the ball. The coaching holds Fort Frye back.Come on 3rd and inches and you run a motion pitch sweep?River did a great job playing the ends out so Fort Frye could not use Spencers speed. The team will do alright but with all the players quiting and getting hurt not much was expected.Next season when the decent freshman class gets older and some 8th graders come up they might be a little better but only time will tell.I am see the glass full kind of guy.The coaches have to find a way to get plays in faster. They need to find some kind of hurry up offense. They need to not waste timeouts early in the 3rd.The D has to take more chance. You can't run the same defensive play everytime.Belpre really don't have much going for them.

From watching the game river game planned more for C Lang than S Lang. The D ends played contain to keep him in the pocket. Leaving the off tackle run open. but do to S Langs lack of physicality when he runs he was unable to take advantage. C Lang got out of the pocket 5 times. one blown pass, one 35 yd run, one 7 yd run, and two 15 yd runs.

Containing the ends also eliminated Fort Fryes best play the jet sweep to Spencer Lang.Spencer will never me a great runner inside the tackles.Chandlers inaccuracy when passing also killed the deep pass to Spencer.

If River was using the DE so good then why didn't Fort Frye run more up the middle? They have had problems with getting the plays in ever since Huck took over get off it i don't they are going to change anything. They Rely on the Lang Boys way to much everyone knows that they are the only two players therefore Huck needs to find a surprise player. Cuthbertson had one run for 11 yards in the Third quarter when both teams were tired and River was already winning 20-0 yeah lets get him the ball. I don't care how bad Belpre is Fort Frye didn't look much better.

Fort Frye 34 Belpre 6........Belpre is coming off a 1-9 season and they also lost the teams best players in Miller and Wadaker. On the bright side Fort Frye had some good possesions on defense.Belpre does not have much of a passing game.If Fort Frye can stop Wes Hatfield they win this game.

Lookout, FF called their timeouts on D, and on fourth and goal. had nothing to do with getting plays in on offense. Although having C Lang run to the sideline for every play is a bit extreme when he is on the field for every play. no since running him an extra 20 yds a play to bring the plays in to the huddle. But one bash on the offense is its predictability, you could hear rivers coaches calling out the plays in the booth

The Fort coaches are horrible at seeing a teams weakness they don't adjust the gameplan is the same every week.Last 2 years they have had talent that can carry a team.If team has a weak side go at.Its all about film and prep that's how teams win ball games.Atleast they are finally faking it to the guy in motion.

The game was closer then score. That was a big fumble on the punt even Spencer will tell yout he can not catch punts. How about when its 3rd an inches you don't run a sweep 5 yards behind the line of scrimmage.Maybe instead of running the same defensive play ever play you blitz bring pressure. You have to score when you are in the redzone.Maybe give the ball the Cuthbertson more considering he scored most your tds in preseason.Maybe run theoption with Spencer Lang instead of the FB.Run the flanker screen to Spencer or Shawn instad of Bates.Roll Chandler right more instead of left so he don't have to throw accross his body.River is a better team but not that much better.

Fort Frye by 10 at the most. Two weak teams going at it. Someone's got to win.

I agree with you el savior. It's not the matchup of the week but instead matchup of the weak.

I like Fort Frye i just feel that people hype them up and then when they fail they just take the easy way and blame the coaches. Yeah it's easy to blame them, but are they the ones out there making the blocks or running the ball?

I agree with not blaming the coaches. but like you said above, if the DE's are playing outside the OT's, why not call runs in the 4 & 5 gaps. or on 3rd and short run QB sneeks. And if its because Spencer can't run between the takles give the ball to Max. Or line up in the Florida Tim Tebow shallow gun and run Chandler up the middle. But that will come later im sure. The one thing that has never changed since Zollar left (because he did it all the time) Is that FF runs all pass plays with either a one step drop, rollout, or play action. No straight drops. I seriously dislike the PA pass do to the fact that the QB can't see the defense until he turns. When teams move the DE out (to stop the sweep) they will not suck in on the PA (their job is get up field and contain) and When the first thing the QB turns to see is a DE then its very hard to complete a pass.

I never had high hopes for Fort Frye all along been saying 5-5 cause the schedule is so bad.they are better then they played Friday. They scored points in the 3 scrimmages.I know Belpre just don't have the players.Fort Frye will take Belpre to the Woodshed.

IMO You are right on the money. If I remember right, Fort Frye just ran two plays between the tackles in the first half and those plays were their biggest gains of the half. In the second half, they adjusted their strategy to run in the middle/off tackle more and moved the ball. Eventually, they got room to run outside and got big yardage. I don't know why it took them that long to adjust. Also, ditto what you said about the passing game.

Lol, beat up on River Valley, i was at the Fort Frye vs River Valley last year, to be honest i thought talent wise the teams were pretty even. I can tell you that if any of you think your going to play RV and them not be prepared or play like they did on defense like they did last year your in for quite a surprise! Fort Frye had a decent team last year! When RV comes to Beverly expect a dog fight.
I have not 1 thing in this but i saw them against SG and SG might be the best Div6 team i have seen. Rv was in that game 12-6 and gave up a late score. They will fight until the last whistle.

I can' t wait to see eastern beat up on River Valley?

Dude relax I was at RV and SG scrimmage and RV is nothing special.FF beat FH 20-6 in the 2 qt Jamboree and if they played another 2 qt it would have been like 41-6 or 14.Rv barely beat a bad Fed Hock team by 1.
