Re: Dream Team
I would have to say that Bob Lutz would probably not be my Head Coach. With the athletes you can choose from, now way I would run an I, wing-T, or any other play action power offense.
QB-Jimbo Davis, South Point (michigan)
RB-Jo Jo Parker, Portsmouth (fairmont state)
RB- Jermon Jackson, Ironton (ohio state)
WR- Robbie Issacs, Chesapeake (marshall)
WR- James ???, Ironton (played at Ohio U)
TE- ??? Fox, Fairland (marshall)
OL- Roman Fry, Ironton (clemson)
OL- Gerald Cadogan, Portsmouth (penn state)
DE- Reggie Arden, Ironton (ohio state)
S- Josh Waugh, Chesapeake (glenville state)
S- ???? Malone, Portsmouth (toledo)
DB- Jason Harmon, Ironton (michigan state)
I need to do more research.

Re: Dream Team
2 of the better athletes....Edwards and Roback.....Edwards at OLB at OU and Roback there at QB....if he chooses to be there.
Re: Dream Team
I am sorry but I am not putting anyone at QB a head of Jimbo Davis. The guy went to Michigan. I heard when he played it was Jimbo right or Jimbo left, mixed in with him running.

Re: Dream Team
thought about hubie bobo but wasnt sure what position.
davis must have been pretty good but the three i have listed are pretty good also. would put them up against anyone else from the area.

Re: Dream Team
Davis was 6'4, 225, and from what I heard Bo Schembeckler himself landed a helicopter at South Point to see him play. He started at Michigan (switched to Safety) as a freshmen before his career was ended by a neck injury.
My dad played against him and said he was by far the best player he has seen since.

Re: Dream Team
ealey (sp) never saw him play personally but ask portsmouth people
cook played on some bad bengal teams in their early years
schlichter (sp) talk to miami trace people

The last name for James from Ironton is Taylor.
Re: Dream Team
It was Steve Fox Avalanche!
And he wasnt a TE he was a guard on offense and a linebacker on defense!Still a tremendous player though!
And a vicous hitter!

Re: Dream Team
What about Shad Williams from Portsmouth in the 70's. He played Defensive Tackle at Ohio State and started his freshman year. Got kicked out of Ohio State for stealing money from a gumball machine (or so I think).
Re: Dream Team
How about super bowl champion and 3 time pro bowler Garin Veris of Chillicothe at D.E. ?
Or former top 100 national recruit Obadiah Harris at the other D.E. spot?
Or North-South aal-star MVP Chris Givens at W.R.
Veris is probably the best athlete to ever play in south eastern ohio considering the fact that he was all-american in two sports and was 1st team D-1 all-state in three sports. I believe three time al state in football.
Givens and Harris also have to be close to the top of the list.
Oh, and dont forget former AFL rookie of the year Greg Cook at QB.
Chilli has had 4 of the top football players to ever come out of SEO, IMO.
