Inspired by the other thread on the Unioto Tourney, what are the teams that will be at Athens. Other than the Bulldogs, who else is invited/participating?
The tournament champions for the last two years, The Eastern Eagles, are planning to be there. Hopefully, they will be charmed by three in a row.
GO EAGLES!!!
Match #1 of the season against Southern tonight. From the preview, the Southern team has a new coach and playing much improved VB. I think that they will be much more competitive in the TVC-Hocking this season.
Athens Tournament 9/3/11
Re: Athens Tournament 9/3/11
... Just iin case somebody might just be casually interested. Last night DD said that Eastern is pooled with Athens and Warren and the other pool was Marietta, Waterford and "um I don't remember" (Gallia Academy).

Wow, this is the kind of weekend that is going to prepare teams for the post season. Gonna be some good volleyball matchups tomorrow.
Re: Athens Tournament 9/3/11
Cap, yep I agree, should be some good volleyball challenges. Since the TVC-Hocking expanded last year the schedule filled and the competition for the more serious volleyball teams dropped due to the increased schedule commitments.
Really looking forward to toimorrow. Warren and Eastern mixed it up a little at Kings Island in the summer. Waterford and Eastern have battled for years in the conference, Marietta gets the best from their talent.
The threads have been exceedingly light this year, nobody sharing, not even scores. Digger said Athens is doing everything better. I suspect with Katie coaching that Athens has had a lot of help from a local celebraty VB consultant.
Should be good VB tommorow.

Congrats to Eastern. They are fun to watch.
The Warren Lady Warriors are improving...not quite there yet. They had nothing for Eastern though.

Re: Athens Tournament 9/3/11
With a little luck, and the right bracket, I would say the Lady Eagles might be disappointed with anything less than a regional championship (Division 4)

Believe it is very possible Eastern will enter tourney play with an undefeated record. They are a fun team to watch.
