Coming off three big wins Clay came out flat against a pumped up East squad. Clay jumped out to a 15 to 4 lead but theydidn't hold it long with poor ball handling and poor shot selection. Fortunatley, East wasn't shooting much better. East took their first lead of the game at the 6:00 mark in the third when they went up 32 to 31. Clay managed to get back up 50 to 44 only to have East hit a two, grab a turnover and nail a three to make it 50 to 49 with about 5 minutes left in the game. Clay did utilize the "weave" a lot tonight, including a 2 minute run off the clock when they were only up 1 point, but they made their shot and then hit clutch free throws down the stretch to win 59 - 52
Clay was led by Cody Delotell with 25 points, Valentine was the only other Panther in double figures with 11. Overall their shooting was down from the 2, 3 and foul line. They came out flat, played flat, moped and walked the floor at times. Any team in the SOC is capable of winning, especially in the small gyms at home.
Clay needs to get pumped up for Notre Dame this tuesday. When your on top, every team is gunning to be the one to knock you off. Don't let your guard down and get knocked off. Play every game like it is for the SOC championship, because just like tonight against East, you can lose it all in one bad game.

gotta hand it to clay, 5 big wins in the conference, green & eastern at home (still gotta go there ! ) and AT east, nb, and s valley. three very tough places to get a win. Stay focused and keep workin hard and it will pay off!!! ( no off days in league play !!!!!)
