Re: Speedy Portsmouth drops GAHS, 49-24
The Trojans frosh squad has lost only 1 game this season, even without freshman Kendall Reynolds, who is playing varsity full time. The Trojan varsity has 5 of the top 6 back for next season. The future looks good for PHS basketball for the next 3-4 years.
I was concerned coming into this game with the Trojans long layoff.......it was PHS's first game since the Florida trip. After a sluggish first half, Portsmouth seemed to force the Blue Devils into more of an uptempo game in the second half. Good to see Sky Oliver and Isaiah Lisath score 15 and 11 points respectively. Kyre Allison is now averaging 19.6 PPG after scoring 8 points vs. GAHS. Hopefully the 75% performance as a team at the FT line will translate into more consistency at the stripe as the season progresses.

Forgot to mention senior GAHS forward Seth Atkins, one of the Blue Devils top scorers, suffered an elbow injury to the head with 4:15 left in the second period. It took around 15 minutes to get Atkins on his feet and clean up the floor after his injury. He did not return to action. His dad, Greg Atkins, reserve coach, said they were going to take him to the hospital for observation. Hope he is not seriously injured.

Jottings,
He required two stitches in his head. His CT was clear but they did rule it a concussion. He remembers everything that happened so that was good. We appreciate all the thoughts and prayers.

Thanks. I was gonna check yesterday afternoon but got tied up taking Christmas decorations down. We had Christmas late while grandson Nick was home on leave from the U. S. Navy.

Glad to hear he is okay! I was one of the officials who called the game.
Re: Speedy Portsmouth drops GAHS, 49-24
The tribune people didn't post the story. It was sent to Portsmouth for them to use, and somebody down that way copied and pasted it.
Nice assumption, pfloyd. Truly clueless.
Maybe you should dance and let the purple hippo do the talking.

Re: Speedy Portsmouth drops GAHS, 49-24
Pfloyd is one of the most respected individuals in southeastern Ohio by coaches, fans, parents and players alike. But not just in the basketball arena, in the educational community as well.
Calling a man who has been engaged in a severe battle with cancer and continues to fight - and who has inspired others to fight their own difficult battles - clueless? I can seriously name at least 20 very important people in and around the southeastern Ohio sports community who absolutely love Pfloyd and appreciate his time and effort he gives to the kids.
The post by Charlie hustle could easily be misinterpreted. It's just the story, with the name of the reporter and media outlet at the top - and nothing more. Usually when a story is taken from one entity and placed on a message board, the poster will say "I got this from the daily times" ... or "This was in yesterday's paper" ... etc ... etc ... a misinterpretation is hardly grounds for calling someone "clueless" - especially when its something that can easily be misinterpreted.

A man of such character can make amends for his own actions. He doesn't need you or anybody else to speak on his behalf if he can do the crime.
Also, you are an administrator, why are you or others not making sure that copyrighted material is not on this website. A link from the place that provided the info (which is the only legal way) would have cured a lot of this problem.
You never paste your stories on seops. You use a link to your website, because it's all about the hits. Why would it be any different for anyone else?
Guess the responsibility comes in handy only when you need it.

I post a link to avoid typing it over. I have no idea how many "hits" my site has - you have to pay for that service.bdubya wrote:You never paste your stories on seops. You use a link to your website, because it's all about the hits.
As a moderator - it is totally impossible to read every post or thread. There is a 'report' function you can select that will bring attention to it. Please do that if you see something that needs deleted.
I, like Pfloyd, assumed it was posted by someone that either wrote the story or someone who worked at the Times or Tribune. In which case had I deleted it, I would have probably been questioned about that. Kind of a damned if you do and damned if you don't situation. So again, use the report function so we can decipher what is 'wanted' and is 'not wanted'.
Re: Speedy Portsmouth drops GAHS, 49-24
... and I will guess that YOU are from the Tribune ? are you more "upset" that I would prefer to read what jottings wrote than what the article (no matter who posted it) published in the paper whether it was the Tribune or the Portsmouth paper ? jottings is the dean of reporting - right there with Tom Meters in Athens, Craig Dunn in Logan - I have read his game wrap ups for going on 15 years here on seops and prior to this on jjhuddle - no matter in which paper the article that was posted originated ( and it read at the top the Tribune so the assumption was that it came from the Tribune) I would still prefer jottings' run down ...bdubya wrote:The tribune people didn't post the story. ... as far as you being from the Tribune AND attacking ME as being "clueless" and ME dancing while the purple hippo talked ??? speak of assumptions! - how do you know that it wasn't the purple hippo talking ???? he does get out of control at times and there is ONLY a fine line between the purple hippo persona and myself ... in either case I would have to say that I resemble that remark ... for you to assume that I am not just "clueless" but "TRULY clueless" !!! - thought I was watching the movie "A Few Good Men" when Demi Moore not only objected but " strenuously objected!!!" - love that movie ... "A man of such character can make amends for his own actions. He doesn't need you or anybody else to speak on his behalf if he can do the crime." - if he can do the crime ??? hmmm from A Few Good Men again => Downey: What did we(I) do wrong? We(I) did nothing wrong! ... I stated a fact that I would prefer to read jottings recap - crime??? ... apparently the "crime" of which you speak is for saying that the article had been "posted" a number of times by the "Tribune" people ? - was the article in question written by the Tribune? - according to the byline - it was ... was it "posted" by some one from the Tribune - apparently not - for that miss statement I will "do my time" if that is in fact the crime here - I can apologize for THAT miss statement ... BUT IF I may your honor, " I , pfloyd/the dancing purple hippo , would STILL prefer reading the game rundown by jottings ...
... and may I just say that YOU, bdubya, by calling me out, by calling me "Truly clueless" - speaks "volumes" - "Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt." - Abraham Lincoln ... one of those quotes that can be used over , and over and over again when the right time/person arise ... thanks bdubya for giving me that opportunity ...

I could care less who you prefer to read. I didn't write the story to begin with.
But if you are going to make us a punch line for something we didn't do and weren't doing, then maybe you should follow your own advice there Abe.
"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt."
You fired the first bullet, which means you spoke out first.

Jottings posted a wrap-up of the game ... Charlie hustle POSTED 3 TIMES a write up from the tribune (you didn't see the posts bdubya because he edited them - but it was three straight, separate posts!)
All pfloyd did was make a sarcastic remark stating jottings wrap-up was better, no mater how many times the tribune posts theirs' ... with a big LOL at the end.
Had Charlie hustle just posted the write-up once, pfloyd probably would have never made the comment.
Crab's brother is right, if you can't handle a little sarcasm - or fly off the deep end every time you read something that appears negative to you - then you are definitely in the wrong place. pfloyd posted one sentence, made one sarcastic remark and you call him 'clueless' ... tell him he should dance and let the hippo do the talking ... post that he needs to make 'amends' ... actually made the comment 'if he can do the crime' ... and then use the term 'you fired the first bullet'?
Come on now - that's a little outrageous.

hey fellas.......let me explain what happened yesterday.......I was not putting Jottings post down, I just thought maybe folks would like to see the game from another perspective.......I was having trouble getting the submit button to work and I accidently posted it 3 times. I didnt realize what I had done till later and when I saw it I edited it to get the posts off the board.........I dont think Floyd was taking shots at anyone, I respect the man and his opinion and I saw nothing wrong with the way he reacted.......I truly apologize for the anguish I caused a few folks so let's all kiss and make up.......93Bulldog wrote:Bullet?bdubya wrote:You fired the first bullet, which means you spoke out first.
