Re: Best QB in SEO?
Probably not the best overall QB but easily the best running one is Lane Ruby from SE, nobody in the SVC has broke more ankles since Todd Shoemaker 20 yrs ago than Ruby. Glad he is a senior and won't have to play him in 2020.

Sucks Athens doesn’t like to play freshmen. Moore to Wheatley next year will be fun to watch. Wheatley on the JV isn’t fair
Re: Best QB in SEO?
I don't know his passing stats, SE doesn't pass much. They don't have to since the run game is so effective, pretty sure I saw a recent stat that he is averaging 14 or 15 yards per carry. He is greased lightning and can change direction better than any HS player I have seen in person.Raider6309 wrote: Mon Oct 14, 2019 2:50 pmWhat’s his stats?Bumpy wrote: Mon Oct 14, 2019 2:48 pm Probably not the best overall QB but easily the best running one is Lane Ruby from SE, nobody in the SVC has broke more ankles since Todd Shoemaker 20 yrs ago than Ruby. Dumb. Is this 1964 college basketball? A lot of freshman are older than some sophomoresRaider6309 wrote: Mon Oct 14, 2019 2:55 pmSucks Athens doesn’t like to play freshmen. Moore to Wheatley next year will be fun to watch. Wheatley on the JV isn’t fair

Moore's from Athens highlights are good (saw him in the Jackson film), the kid from Waverly as mentioned above as well is good.
Put the freshman kid from Jackson on this list for next year, in his first several touches (run/pass) against us went to the house. He is going to be the real deal given his build.

I still like Cleeland from Meigs. If the kid had a team around him, he would be a legitimate 2500-3000 yard passer.

Experience and size are what counts in varsity football. Freshman should play jv or on the freshman team if there are enough kids. Doesn't make any sense to put a 15 yo, 125ish pound freshman qb who can't see over his center and line, up against a defensive line that run closer to 200 lbs and are all Jr's or Sr's. Have them play a year or 2 of jv, get that experience and knowledge that makes a good fb player, then make him starting qb/rb or whatever jr/Sr year. Unless 1st and 2nd string qb, or any skill position, get hurt a freshman shouldn't be playing on varsity.

Pretty much and some don't have the grades but most of those kids have been pressured or pulled in one way or another to just play one sport, or travel ball, or aau, etc. and get burnt out and quit sports before high school age. The days of the 3 or 4 sport athletes are long gone.
