Best Players in Southern Ohio
The lists you see recognizing the best players in the state always stack the guys with D1 offers at the top. Sometimes the best players aren’t the biggest and the fastest. Lets recognize the better returning players in the area.

Re: Best Players in Southern Ohio
That is pretty amazing to have 13 of the best players in Southern Ohio on one team. I know it's already been said but if this team doesn't go undefeated with a state title it will be an utter shame. Not only should they win every game, starters should be out by the 4th quarter of almost all games including the playoffs. This much D1 talent on one team basically makes them the IMG academy of Ohio.XandOs wrote: Sun Jul 24, 2022 1:42 pm Noah Patterson- Ironton OL/DL

I'm just amazed he didn't start listing JV starters. Siderblood I'm giving you the nod for MVP type of player with Sissel I don't know how many kids in the area does more for their team then that young man, he's going to be HUGE this year. As a matter of fact if you look at the SOC, Sissel, Pica-Minford, Hurd-Waverly are all backs that should have big seasons. Winters for Jackson another young man who does a lot for his team but everyone best keep an eye on the junior RB-Wofford this season if Jackson leans on him in the run kid could push 1,500. I know some don't want to think of Western Brown as Southern, OH but D. Novak will carry that team once again.SiderBlood wrote: Sun Jul 24, 2022 2:37 pmThat is pretty amazing to have 13 of the best players in Southern Ohio on one team. Right. None of those kids had offers when they came to Ironton. Which means more than likely they were on no one’s radar.
Re: Best Players in Southern Ohio
Pendleton does help get kids recognized and he’s using that to bring kids in but let’s not get too big headed on it. You act as if he’s the only coach that has kids going on to college. Doesn’t South point have a d1 commit right now? The kids you mentioned above all have the intangibles that the other kids you mentioned don’t. Size, speed, and athletic ability. Coach is promoting himself as a D1 specialist. It’s working. He’s getting kids in and that’s going to help him win games. Ironton probably isn’t a serious state contender if you remove the transfers.XandOs wrote: Sun Jul 24, 2022 4:57 pmmustard wrote: Sun Jul 24, 2022 4:35 pmXandOs wrote: Sun Jul 24, 2022 4:24 pm He said let’s recognize some of the better players in the area and that’s what I did. Re: Best Players in Southern Ohio
Wolford might go 1500 but man we have him, Winters, Broermann and Johnson who all can easily be 1000 yard rushers if not for the talented teammates. Line is all back and no excuses there. Anyone keying on Wolford will be chasing to catch the other 3 racing toward the EZ. Those kids have worked their tails off in the weightroom and greatly transformed their bodies…I’d guess Broermann is somewhere right now squatting a telephone pole. Not sure Wolford will get the load of carries to get 1500. The tough games I’d guess a good mix of all 4 getting totes and the easier games Cade will have 7 carries for 150 yards. Those 4 will be key guys on defense too and they all love to lay a hit…..hopefully they can stay healthy. I’d love to see a 1250, 900, 800, 700 yard rusher.greygoose wrote: Sun Jul 24, 2022 4:16 pmI'm just amazed he didn't start listing JV starters. Did you guys get oak hills qb for wr? I heard he was working on being a wr this year and transferred there. He was always good defensive player too. I've watched him since 3rd grade.
Re: Best Players in Southern Ohio
Yeah that's kind of what I figured with what is returning Wolford wouldn't be able to get the touches to get to that point. Curious if they decide to use to use him at WR any, not sure what all Jackson has coming back on the outside.Ironman92 wrote: Sun Jul 24, 2022 6:02 pmWolford might go 1500 but man we have him, Winters, Broermann and Johnson who all can easily be 1000 yard rushers if not for the talented teammates. Re: Best Players in Southern Ohio
Winter’s targets don’t have good size and Wolford and Broermann both athletic with great hands. Winters is great at that pass to those guys middle deep downfield to those guys. Goons miss Prater and Bragg on receiving….and two that I figured to get some of those reception were Campbell and Jarvis and neither are playing this year. Kids will have the opportunity to step up.greygoose wrote: Sun Jul 24, 2022 6:24 pmYeah that's kind of what I figured with what is returning Wolford wouldn't be able to get the touches to get to that point. We shouldn’t have to pass much to win but man Winters has to get the throws in because the main goal this postseason and we will need the passing game…..but honestly the offense of this team feels like the 1996 team but without the huge size of the line.

Re: Best Players in Southern Ohio
I said on another thread that Winters and Sissel would be my first two picks if I was starting a team.
I think that gives you the 2 best linebackers, possibly the best Quarterback (Novak?), and possibly the best back.
My third pick would be Clary from GAHS. Young man could be dominant on both lines.

Galloway from Chillicothe probably has the most potential to start at a D1 program

Year Clary has the legit D1 size and very good skills and he’s been working on it all. I remember him at the Rio basketball camps as the youngest kid in his age division every year and he was so raw but just kept with it no matter what and when heard that he was the youngest in the league I knew he was going to be something down the road. He played for South Gallia back in those days.

Also though….he might have the most football to learn, but also still 2 more years. Very game raw but elite size and great skill set. The ball is 100% in his court.Raider6309 wrote: Sun Jul 24, 2022 8:53 pm Galloway from Chillicothe probably has the most potential to start at a D1 program
