2023 Player Spotlight/interview with Jayden Wallace from Tri-Valley

Post by LICKING COUNTY FAN »

Jayden Wallace

Tri-Valley Scottie’s

Running back

Class 2025

Now that Tri-Valley has had some practices, what are your expectations for the team this season?

To win the MVL title this year.

What are your personal goals for the 2023 season?

To rush for at least 12-15 touchdowns and 1200 rushing yards

What will you remember the most from the 2022 season?

My first varsity start against Morgan on homecoming night

As an athlete, what is your favorite memory?

Just being out on the field on Fridays with the guys you spend your whole summer with.

Looking at only the road games you have played, which have been the best and worst, along with the reasons they were the best and worst?

My worse I would have to say was licking heights just because that was only the 2nd varsity game that I played in up until that point and I was still getting used to the pace of the game. And my best varsity away game would probably have to be against Philo because, at that point in the season, I was very comfortable being out there and running the plays

What must you improve on the most to take your game to the next level?

I really just need to know no when to make the right decisions like when to cut, bounce, and to keep it inside.

Where on the field do you believe you are the best at, along with the reason you feel this way?

Running back I feel like I grasp offense better than I do the defense and I’m very determined to no let opposing teams catch me when I run the ball

Which game are you looking forward to the most, along with the reason?

The Sheridan game because I feel like for the last few years it’s been us and Sheridan winning MVL titles so I think it will be a really interesting game

When things are going in a downward spiral as far as football goes, who is the one teammate you seek out for advice?

I would have to say Jaleel Brown just because I feel like he just says the right things at the right time that can get you going and is a good teammate on and off the field.

If you could add one new team for Tri-Valley to play, who would it be and why?

Zanesville for sure just because Zanesville and Tri-Valley have a lot of history in the past and I would just like to play them once before my high school football career is over

What are your thoughts on 16 teams from each region qualifying for the playoffs?

Personally I don’t this they should not allow 16 teams just because at the point that decreases the pride teams have for making the playoffs if just about everyone can make the playoffs what’s so special about it

Where should the state finals be held?

I think it would be cool if they had them on the Ohio State field

What was the last book you read?
The mocking bird

Where is the best local spot to grab a bite?

I would have to say Roosters that’s where you can find the whole team after games

Who are your favorite and least favorite pro football teams?

My favorite is the Seahawks and my least favorite team is the Cowboys
